India is too big we cannot invade all of it but merely few kilometers of it. In the same way India cannot invade Pakistan. So before making such invasion you have to frame a country to your advantage by proxies. Large land masses and Armies cannot be just defeated with only fire power there is always a Gurila-war that follows such invasions and that is where things get ugly. Just Invading for a month will be waste of resources one has to invade and hold. After that one should have the ability to govern the land. So to effectively achieve Indian Invasion Pakistan should first start proxies with in India arm the local Muslim population make them inflict damage to Indian army and launch an offensive, then make the local population govern the country and we slowly extend the borders to strategic control of the country and occupy the strategic areas which will give future advantage.

The best example is what Russia did in Ukraine they annexed Crimea and created a buffer zone between Crimea and Ukraine by Pro Russian rebels.
