Indian Air Force's RFI for IJT is a joke : HAL

I think HAL should be given a chance to finish IJT...If IAF always wants to buy "The very Best"
You are misunderstanding this. IAF doesn't want the very best, they want "a" intermediate trainer and they have to plan for the worst case, which is that HAL can't deliver the Sitara according to the planned technical requirements and in any useful time. IAF can't just sit and watch to see that happen and only "hope" on HAL to deliver someday, that's why this RFI was send out. It puts pressure on HAL to fix the problems, but at the same time prepares IAF to have an alternative route, if the worst case happens and they have no option left than sending out RFPs for a propper competition.

Why dont indians just follow Pak Armed Forces and make their military factories under them directly.
And anything else? You are successfully did in what ?Anything from scratch, you started ,don't tell me how successfully you assembled Jf 17 ? Well Indian forces have large order ,so they hardly got any space to export.Fault lies in manufacturing capability, their lots of babudum who kills export orders.Still lets hope for some respite under Modi Govt as he clearly said that we need to be Export powerhouse in defence products.

they've already decided to send RFP.that means they're already decided not procuring Sitara.they've waited so many years, why this sudden impatience when Sitara is undergoing all the testings and will be operational by this year end??

The article says they send an RFI, so informations only! We did the same for possible carrier fighters that could be used on IAC 2, but of course no RFP was issued and neither will be for the trainers, unless HAL failes to deliver Sitara, so lets wait and see what both sides are up to.

LOl It seems yr just a 15 years old. But anyways because of our military industries being directly under the command of our armed forces is the main reason why our aircrafts do fly atleast.:enjoy: And r inducted in precise time.

Only 2 squadrons of JF 17 inducted. Rest are all in hangar. Why because a Prototype level aircraft with no proven technologies is not operationally viable. As a result your forces are buying up old obsolete F 16 A/B BLK 15 from your allies.

Tejas took around 15 years for actual work (designing, construction, testing) to be done. We were making a 4+ Gen fighter for the first time on our own. It took nearly 12 - 15 years to get the necessary industrial capacity together before work could begin. But today it can arguably be said to be the best in it's class (Gripen C/D, JF 17, F16 A/B and early C variants, etc included) due to the some amazing technologies used.

1. HMDS (Dash Helmet Mounted Display Sights)
2. FLIR/ Passive IRST (Litening Pod)
3. Internal MAWS, RWR, systems
4. High Thrust to Weight Ratio 1.07
5. Very Low Wing Loading (50.7 lbs/sqft)
6. All Axis Digital Flight Control System (Quadruplex Redundant)
7. ELTA 2032 Hybrid Multi Mission Radar (150 KM Air to Air range for 3 - 5 msq target, 300 KM for Air to Ground target the size of tank.)
8. Stealth Composites
9. Very Low RCS ( 0.3 msq)
10. Very Low Cost ($ 26 million only)

india is a joke

Pakistan successfully builds K-8, Super Mushak training aircrafts...

And Pakistan Air Force has already inducted two battle-ready squadrons of JF-17 Thunders...

While india takes decades and achieves nothing...

Pakistan's management is utterly superior to india's...Since Pakistan military itself over-looks these projects..

Moreover, Pakistan took the smart approach and went with joint-ventures with already experienced aviation Industries of China, Turkey, and even Europe...

Why dont indians just follow Pak Armed Forces and make their military factories under them directly.

Coz we Indian defeated pakistan thrice...pakistan is nowhere in comparison with India except terrorism... What we can expect from someone who is breathing on AID...You AIDistani Guy.

Pakistan -

K 8 - Chinese/Pakistani

JF 17 - Chinese/Pakistani (Rejected by PLAAF)

Neat eh?

are you even familiar with the context???we're building Pilatus and Hawk in India.if we even bought some foreign product,we'd make it in India.but its "Indian Product" we're talking about.

You didn't understood what he said. He was talking about military itself taking control of these organizations. This way they can enforce the deadlines and make them perform better.

We don't want a dictatorship in India. All old Generals will support their Kin in these things and will create a mess. I was shocked to see Kamra Complex still manufacturing obsolete Gryfo Radar.
