Featured Indian Air Force Pilot Killed In MiG-21 Bison Accident During Training Mission

A group captain rank officer on these flying coffins?

I felt when wing commander Abhinandon was shotdown in this mig21, it was an overkill and waste of AIM120. Who knows, might be IAF strategy to use Mig21s as bait for the PAF BVR missiles, hoping that PAF inventory will be reduced significantly, keeping Su30s and Rafaels safe?

PAF should convert F-7 into drones and use them as bait / cruise missiles / recon drones / EW platforms.

Are they overhauled at all? Many of PAF's Mirages are the same age yet our safety record seems much better, this maybe due to PAC overhauling the Mirages, unsure if HAL does the same for the MIG-21s.

If not then they are indeed flying death traps
yes these are significantly overhaled ..

the number of crashes is also a factor of number of flying hours these machines do compared to PAF Mirages. Cherry on top is the Russian engine vs French engine

Seems IAF is putting up senior pilots on these vulnerable planes just so the average flying hours could be logged.

Then you should check on your Jaguar aircraft attrition which have Rolls Royce engines.

Indians will still keep believing that mig 21 is an invincible jet and currently the best jet in the world. Because according to pajeets every jet Indians have automatically becomes 10th generation.

PAF Mirages are frontline and fly normal hours, probably on par or more then that of the IAF MIG-21s. To give you an idea PAF is confident of sending it's Mirages abroad for exercises, IAF never sends MIG-21s.

Nice try to cover up the reason though.

Every time they come up with a bullshit excuse they come across facts, than they make another excuse that contridicts their first explanation. Mastered the art of bullshit these people.....

According to Indians their jets are the best in the world. Their pilots are best in the world. But when jets crashes its due to manufacturers fault. Sahi mazaaq hei

Perhaps you are right but if a Squadron leader or to some extent Wing commander flies that Mig-21, it still be acceptable but a group captain? and most of the time Group Captain rarely fly combat mission or training missions as they are mostly on desk jobs after quiting flying in majority of cases.
IAF is top heavy with Wing Commanders and Group Captains doing the jobs squadron leaders do in PAF. For example the flight instructors at their academy are Wing Commanders and Group Captain, whereas at Risalpur they are all Squadron Leaders.

I am not sure that they have planned rebuilts like the PAF.

Group captain?

They even lost an Air commodore three years ago in a Jaguar crash. An air commodore. Can you believe that?

I don't know why these air commodores and group captains are flying these aircrafts

Yes, I read the restructure around the officer corps on India, they will have Major Generals in charge of Brigades and full colonals and Brigadiers in charge of Battalions. Very odd, but essentially in such a big army they are running out senior positions.

RIP, fighter pilots are a rare breed!

Dushman marey te khushi na kariye sajnan wi mar janan

IAF safety record since Jul-2019 has significantly improve..if one check the numbers and compare.. Group Captain flying ...well there was a time lot Grp Cpt were flying in PAF as well...and still do if required..

Senior officer loss..that is the pain to any air force.

Why do you think that's the case?
