Though South is considered to be relatively more safe than, let's say, Delhi. But, IT SHOULD NOT MATTER. We shouldn't trivialize this bohemian issue. We have to treat this as a national emergency and address it at that scale and with highest priority.

We must introspect. As a Society why are we even tolerating this crap. And mind you, this is not a story on one day, it is a daily thing in Delhi/Gurgaon belt, or arguably a phenomenon across India. Such eve teasing guys must be castrated under law and there must be express courts for eve teasing. Rape is more heinous than murder and deserves capital punishment. This has to be made non-negotiable by us, the Indians. At least, I, in my limited means, will write to our embassy today and demand them to convey this request and demand to their daddies in India.

We MUST amend our criminal laws and our ridiculous MPs must call a session in next 2 days to amend this law and get cracking, so that no one ever again even thinks of staring my mum and sis...

The politicians don't have balls and time to discuss issues like this. It will take still some more years to wipe off current day impotent dumbfounded babus. Hopefully next front line from well educated-well cultured-clean background-greater vision-selfless motives be seen in power. Am I dreaming ?

I am afraid, utopia doesn't exist... We have to force these very bloody incompetent politicians to act on people's will or resign. Meet your locality MLA and MP, go with people, pressurize them... It will work.. Public, when it comes down to gets their 'will' implemented can get it done... I am, for sure, meeting our embassy folks on monday and giving them a formal letter and will go with my Indian friends.

Immigrant laborers from other states are often poor and defenseless. Be it between different states in India/Pakistan, or between different nations, it is the same everywhere.

They are the new age N!ggers - can always find them in abundance and are always easy to target and persecute. Such targeting of low wage migrant workers is no different from the racist psychologies of wannabe KKK that populated the Confederate States.

The Biharis/Assamese/UPiites/MPians etc are no different from anyone who comes from Kerala or TN or AP or Orissa or Punjab or Kashmir. Their rate of engagement in crime will be the same as the locals but they will be suspected, prosecuted, and persecuted more often simply because they cannot defend themselves as well.
