India should do whatever i can to get defense related goodies from the west , what i don't want to see is that those goodies come with political strings and India must not be a launchpad of "operation rape Asia".

One thing for sure, for Indians, India always comes first..and I am really proud of it...Our foreign policy is not subservient to none. Our self interest is paramount. Since 1947, I have numerous example of India's independent foreign policy.

US came into Asia through Korean War , and do you really think Varad that if Pakistan wouldn't have joined SEATO or CENTO , US would not have been able to come to Asia ?? Do you really think so?

Note i specifically said South Asia. Any way your vision as you mentioned is not possible without Asian countries solving their
disputes. How can you even imagine India and Pakistan being united on a single issue and then threatening each other with
