China don't need water but electricity, if you are building run of the river dam, no issue for us but if its other kinds of dam, then it will affect us too. That's why asked what kind of dam it is.

China officialy only state that the dam won't affect downstream nation, it didn't specified what kind of dams.

Therefore it need more transparency, more information exchange, discussions between concerned nations and China and a treaty. but China is found lacking in this respect. So the GOI had to give the statement which would not be required if there is actual discussion and information exchange going on between the nations.

I hope it never reaches to war point and both nations are able to discuss and take care of each other's concerns much before.

Instead of urging, take the communist party to ICJ and ask them to explain. Crying on international shoulder won't help your cause, altimately it's China to decide the fate of millions of Indians. I understand now why China don't even bother to sign any water treaty nor to share any information regarding our project, talk to India is just waste of time. China is viewed more positively worldwide than both the EU and the USA.
