Now, u do know that Many, many people asking the same Q, how does a BM hit a moving target!? Both the photos and the video u have posted all show the Target being Stationary!

Iran one is stationery but dont discredit it yet. It still hit a pinpoint accuracy on a much smaller ship compare to carrier.

DF-21D travel at speed of Mach 10 while needs only 12mins to reach its target. CVN travels at 32knots and after 12mins, it travel only 15km. Well within the ballistic range of adjustment and then the final approach will take over by infra sensor of warhead. Auto correction and bingo!

If hostilities broke between India and China then PLAN will have full support of Chinese NCW capabilities which include support from PLA and PLAAF too, and they also have DH-10, H6-K with variety of CMs, DF-21D & DF-26, JH-7 with 400km ARM & AShM missies etc. Now is India ready to face onslaught?

Check the IOR map again and talk. They have very formidable under water power but sending CGBs to IOR in future may be not a good idea.

How much those birds are upgraded? 4 birds are not sufficient number against PLAN because they will send CBG to patrol Indian Ocean in future and they already have capabilities to take out air threats up to 200kms from ships.

Your points are valid. But their vulnerability increases significantly from beyond 200 kms as being highlighted in the OP. Until and unless PN plans to give an adequate force backup, they may be short handed by a bit.

Still 4 birds are very little to hurt PLAN, China can track them from there home base and can take out that base if necessary and India can't defend that base because Chinese can easily overwhelm its defenses.

A small non explosive warhead from DF-21D successfully hit the target ship bridge in some year reported from Chinese forum with these photo released. The whole bridge near flatten showing the impact from top. If its a bigger and explosive warhead. I am sure the ship will long break into half.

I can bet US spy satellite track and follow the whole PLAN exercise and test. As for why they didnt make a big hooha or released any news to public of Chinese ABSM successfully tested on sea shall be directed at reducing fear of US public being helpless of their CVN against such fast and accurate silver bullet
