India to test subsonic cruise missile in February

Nirbhay will also supplement the Brahmos cruise missile by carrying warheads beyond the 300km range, as it is capable of flying at different altitudes ranging from 500 metres to 4km. With two wings alongside, the missile can also fly at low altitudes to avoid detection by enemy radar.

SO We are not extending the range of Brahmos more then 300km ,

I can see it now...

Wait, I can't, because it's another EPIC FAIL!

Nice Presumption .. For a Country that Builds ICBMS ( A-5) , BVRs ( Astra ) Hypersonic Quasi Ballistic Missiles ( Shaurya ) , BMD Systems and Supersonic CMs. ( BrahMos ).

PS : I cant Blame Gen. Musharraf Alone for his "Epic Fail" Assumptions in Kargil.

Arihant will fire Nirbhay...There wont be any Bramos on Arihant..

SO We are not extending the range of Brahmos more then 300km ,

Brahmos was a joint venture aimed at export market but failed to get any customers..
International traties bar it from going beyong 300KM...

Nirbhay has no such restrictions. Complies with many existing standards on board various platforms, and easier to integrate ..Pakistan had foreseen all this and did not waste time in an unwanted technology..

my birthday is on 21st of FEB.. plz I want a present from DRDO :bounce:

JFT was meant to be used by PAF and it is being used there..Export market was an added extra..
Same cannot be said for Brahmos..It was built for export and had strings attached...while no strings attached to JF-17.

#1. MIsguided Perception. It seems YOU ARE UNAWARE that India itself has VAST ORDERS from Indian Tri Forces. The Current Orders By Tri Forces is Huge. Indians LOve This Missile and Its Current Orders alone are in the Range of $10 Billion. And This Figure EXCLUDES Future order for HYPERSONIC Version.

#2. Recent Updates Suggest Indians Have Made the Range of Brahmos Upto 500 KM

#3. Just Like They HAD FORSEEN THAT JF17s ARE BETTER THAN F16s ?

#4. A Few Days Back There was a Huge Jubiliaion of This UNWANTED TECHNOLOGY : CM 400 Hyersonic Missile ( Including YOU )

In Your OWN WORDS :

The nose cone suggests that its a passive Radar seeker, and can take out any Anti aircraft or AMB system, not just ships.
Excellent Purchase by PAF..

NO STRINGS ?

#1. The Biggest String : The Engines . YOU Got to have Russian Approval First.

#2. The Clear Visible String :

The Chinese government did not agree with a proposal from Pakistan for selling JF-17 multi-purpose fighter planes produced by Pakistan and China jointly. Pakistan has received offers for the sale of the planes about four times more than what these planes cost Pakistan. The Chinese have asked Pakistan not to sell the planes before the expiry of 10 years of the production of the same.

SO We are not extending the range of Brahmos more then 300km ,

What 300 km? it is declared at 290 km range. So at 290.1 km it'll just fall out of the sky- because of MTCR rules :azn:

^^^ If you are going to compare CM-400 with Brahmos..Dont forget the cost..Brahmos costs 10 times more than CM-400 for about the same range and minimal difference between warhead weight.

Then the weight of Brahmos is so damn huge that only one can be carried by specially modified MKI , while two CM-400 can be carried by an unmodified JF-17..

About JF-17 Vs F-16..One is sanction prone and other isnt..One has many restrictions and strings attached, other hasnt....

Wonder why you insist to bring this logic into Brahmos Vs Nirbhay Vs Babur Vs Raad thread..

There is no comparison between an operational Ramjet cruise missile and on poster solid fuel missile.

Dont DERAIL The Topic. We Have Had Many Threads for Comparison.

BTW You are WRONG AGAIN.
Just Refer To Your BASELESS Claims ABOVE And This ONE Too : MKI can Carry 3 Brahmos NOT 1 !!

But Lots of people talking about we increase the range to 500 KM , so its all BrainFarting going on.
