India to Supply Bangladesh Railways with 120 LHB Coaches in Indian Railways' Biggest Export Order

KAPURTHALA: In sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' campaign, the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, is contemplating to roll out the first rake of coaches which can run at a speed of 200km per hour

Prototype will roll out this October - It would have 'metro type' vestibules,EP assist axle mounted disc brakes & automatic plug type entrance doors

Layout of LHB AC Chair Car with Prayer Room for Bangladesh Rly:

Layout has been kept similar to IR Shatabdi chair car coaches with the exception of pantry & pantry store, which have been converted to Prayer rooms.

might be a little too far fetched...we need to think about upgrading out current rail ticket booking system ...the one used by IRCTC is pretty smooth.

We had given some engines to BD years ago. Those engines worked very well and gave excellent services for decades. Coaches supplied by india shall also remain in services for decades and give BD the value for the money. Win win situation for both the countries.

BTW these railway orders only happened because there was Modi's $2 Billion loan offer.

LHB coaches made at RCF, Kapurthala I do know are more modern and better quality than coaches made in other antiquated Indian coach factories and their designs. Especially the high-speed bogies (wheel units) are direct copies of latest lightweight Euro bogie design.

I wish them long-life as well....

There is no pantry car or hot galley :D

You don't need a pantry car or hot galley for the distances in Bangladesh. Most train journeys are four/five hours at max.
