Someone realize the set backs russians have suffered over this so called strategic partnership?? Russian today are nowhere in important spheres especially in Middle east and Central Asia due to this strategic partnership. The chinese are chewing their share like bubble gun. Russia needs to get out of its cold war mindset and start forging new alliances, recognise the clout of China, expand ties with Saudi Arabia and UAE. Have a new policy on releations with Pakistan and act as a balancing power. Does someone find it ironic that bomb blast in Russia coincided with news of joint russo-Pak Afghan initiative??

You really didn't studied much of geography during your schools. Russia itself is an oil and natural gas producer. Have you heard that Saudis are investing in oil and gas in UAE or Iran ??/

As far as Russian presence in central Asia and middle east is concerned, well its more than you know and you will realize that when you get over with the Indian phobia of yours.

Their presence is not just till these areas but also in Europe. Do you if Russia wants, then it could stop the supply of gas to the whole Europe.

On topic .. There is no doubt that India and Russia relations are changed after 1990s but still India and Russia are strategic partners not only in defence sectors but also in other areas as well..
