India has been operating PHWR's for a long time now. But indigenous 700MW reactors are a first for India. NPCIL did flirt with 540 MW PHWRs briefly (I think both are in Tarapur but I may be wrong!). I think you are referring to the FBR coming up in Kalpakkam. The current google earth update (which is more than a year old) seems to suggest we may have more than a year to wait but I may be wrong!

No mate I mean Indian designed and developed PHWRs. I know India operating PHWR reactors for many years but talking about Indian. The prototype FBR expected to be commissioned by early 2013. They are taking some extra security precautions, thats why some delays. India has plan to build six such advanced reactors.
