India to hard sell Tejas at air show

. .
If hal is serious about selling any aircraft to other countries, it should seriously consider increasing its production capacity per annum.
HAL's logic would be they need the orders first then they will ramp up production which they are more than able to do. It is a fair policy and one most aviation giants would pursue, can't put the cart before the horse. Within 3-4 year HAL will be producing 12-14 LCAs a year (more than how many JF-17s PAC produces today) and if they receive massive orders can ramp this up further.

Indian Air Force has placed an initial order of 40 aircraft.

This is not very much. If HAL produced 15 a year this order would be fulfilled in under 3 years, then what? There are many examples around the world of production lines closing for lack of orders/demand. The goal is to keep the production lines open for as long as possible. The IAF has made no firm order for the Mk.2 so one can't count on that. If the IAF and IN placed firm orders for 200+ LCAs then HAL would quite easily be able to produce 20+ LCAs a year and would see the benefit in investing in expanded production capacity.

Bangladesh is watching closely what the Myanmar military is buying. So in future you will see by yourself

The Bangladeshi military does not buy and will never buy indian defense equipment period, has nothing to do with myanmar. Its like saying india will buy weapons from china....

Our defense suppliers are Russia, China and Serbia....Bangladesh has a unwritten rule of never buying from india.

The first 20 Tejas will be in the IOC configuration and the remaining 20 in the FOC configuration.

Production line is operational and it can be even expanded to roll out more fighter planes if needed.

Bangladesh will buy from any supplier according to the technology and cost. Myanmar military has acquired large numbers of modern hardware and which bangladesh cant just over look. China, Pakistan and even Russia are selling military hardware to Myanmar and being SAARC member, Bangladesh will see towards India.

Boy your deluded, when did Bangladesh ever buy a major weapon system from india? Do you understand english? Bangladesh does not buy indian defense equipment....peddle your stuff to myanmar.

Our navy is supplied by china, air force china and russia and the army is supplied by china, russia and serbia. man Bangladesh will even buy serbian stuff then indian.

Only thing this junk is useful is being an escort to commercial airliners, these flying showpieces are only currently based in Tamil Nadu and are currently doing this job wonderfully. I heard HAL is offering Tejas to Boeing as a promotional package where if you buy a 747 you get two free.

The initial plan was...

...2 in 2014
...6 in 2015
...8 in 2016
...16 in 2017
...8 in 2018 (while another 8 could be produced for any customer)

That plan remains mainly the same, but the delays might change the initial figures a bit:

Dr. Tyagi described the event as one of the major milestones in the history of the Company. “We have achieved 60% indigenisation in this LCA project so far. We will produce six aircraft next year (2015-16) and subsequently scale it up to eight and 16 aircraft per year.” he added

Not really, because producing it faster doesn't sell it, only getting it fully developed and capable will do it. Nobody will buy a fighter today, with no A2A capabilities. We might have more success to sell the Jags in 2nd had deals than selling LCA MK1 now with the same strike capability. I even would prefer that way, we could get rid of the Jags and save a lot of money for a pointless upgrade and replace them instead with more LCA MK1s for our own needs.
Not to mention that all the crucial parts from foreign countries, will highly limit the export potential, since we need to find customers, that get export approval from the US, Israel and UK now. Any export dreams at this point are simply not realistic and should be avoided, since it only distracts the final developments.

Jeez...build first, before talking of exporting. Exporting fighter jets is not a child's play. Even advanced countries find it difficult to achieve this, like France's Rafale. India has a longgggg way to go before it even starts thinking of military exports

HAL can get orders from Mauritius, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and other African countries.

But first, satisfy the needs of IAF.

Would LCA cost the same as RAFALE? Also, I wonder if India would consider TOT to its customers if they require domestic offset.

What radar does Tejas Mk 1 have?

For sure India cannot sell Tejas to Argentina because Argentina has territorial dispute with Britain and Tejas uses American F404 engine.
