India to decide response after Pakistan attack

Good analysis. Congress Govt has always followed this deluded dream of peace with Pakistan, and we can see the dividends in what that has achieved through 26/11 or ceasefire violations. We need a strong right-wing Govt like the BJP in the middle, or these things will keep happening while Congress keeps living in its alternate deluded world.

Congress or BJP, will not make a huge difference, BJP's report card hasn't shown any valor or ability to take hard decisions anyway. These decisions more or less are taken by seasoned bureaucrats, and from what I have known is few of the key people who influenced policy decisions have retire in successive years, the replacements are internationalists with experience serving in UN and have excessive-optimism when it comes to pakistan and haven't seen much of Indo-pak conflict era. This is causing weakening of India's position politically as none of the bureaucrats are pushing the right decisions, instead nodding to political/media stupidity of all is hunky-dory between indo-pak.

I already opposed Indo-Pak series but we Indians don't remember history. Indians forget Mumbai bomb blasts, Kargil, 26/11. We forget that one can't talk of peace with a nation which allows terrorist organizations on its own soil which its own neighbor and ally China tells to take control of.

It is actually a conference which was scheduled earlier. This incident happened yesterday.

BTW Indian retaliatory fire killed your soldier. But then an Indian movie will be released in Pakistan, Indian shows will be watched by Pakistanis.

It a two way route dear...
India needs transit thats true but Pak also needs India else the so called Strategic location doesn't serve much purpose...

Same is the case with MFN, as Pak bussinessman r paying around $600 millions every year just to import Indian goods through other countries....

The IAF has Harops but these are not likely to be used for such missions as they are one-use weapons. There is speculation RAW's ARC division operates unarmed Predators, the IAF,IN,IA,NRTO all use unarmed UAVs like HERON and Searcher. India is devloping its own UCAVs and armed drones like predator but they are years out.

Best way to achieve peace with Pakistan is to keep it engaged in internal turmoil. They have proven time and again that they like to pick fights and send their assets across when their nation is relatively calm.
