a weapons needs to be in working condition. imported weapons are vulnerable to sanctions. you know this, and all imported weapons are came with some restrictions from the original manufacturer, you will be always depend on other country. PAF f-16 are under the surveillance of US personals, that means they are monitoring your operations. but with JF-17 you don't have any such problems... there is a huge advantage in weapons being built locally.

Sure, but not every weapons needs to be indigenous. Your mistake is thinking that India and Pakistan have the same needs, the same scenario, the same thought process. Whilst that is simply not the case. Both have very different geopolitical ambitions and ideals which drive their weapons development. It is utter foolishness to try and gauge one versus the other on a tit for tat basis.

LOL - China put in the order for Phalcon in 1996 as it's KJ-2000 AWACS was not ready at the time. KJ-2000 was ready by late 2004.

Now with highly advanced indigenous AWACs China has no need to try to buy from anyone else

So by Chinese standards its termed as 2nd Gen.. Chinese top military officials know how pathetic Chinese tech is compared to the west... and here you're trying to compare KJ with the Phalcon which is very well compared or tops the US Awacs systems.

I do not think you get it:

KJ-2000: 1st generation AWACs
KJ-200 : 2nd generation AWACs
Kj-500 :3rd generation AWACs.

China has by far the most experience in making AESA AWACs than any other country on the planet. I am not saying that they make the best AWACs but it would compare favourably with anyone else as they have had so much experience in the field now.

Some Chinese tech like engines and SSNs are behind the West for sure but they are very good at radars these days - as comparable to the best that the West can offer now.

Dude... EL/M-2075 was introduced in early 90s with AESA... KJ series was introduced only in mid 2000's i guess.. China never had more experience than developing AWACS than west especially Israel... Why do you think China maintain a good relationship with Israel even though Israel is US's closest Ally??? because Israel can give some tech for cash which Israel is very much needed

They have on fighters though.
