I think PAF AWACs are known as KE-3 AWACs which is Karakorum Eagle.

how is pakistan well ahead of indian in this?? IAF phalcone is much powerful than any pakistani AEWAC. india is building the AEWAC ingeniously, while pakistani si importing one.
India is placing order for 2 more phalcon AWACS from Israel.
3 Drdo embraer based Awacs are being inducted.
Plus India has P8i which will be 8 in number.
India needs to speed up the R&D
There is difference between are being inducted and operational.
Are you sure P8I is AWACS.
Slight Edge really ? EL/W-2090 based awacs are one of the best awacs available according to federation of american scientists.
To be fair sir, the EL/W-2090 Phalcon AWACS is incredibly powerful and perhaps the finest AWACS in service anywhere in the world and holds a considerable edge on the Erieye (that the IAF's ERJ-145 is much more comparable with) and ZDK-03. The only issue is the colossal cost of this system making it cost prohibitive even for the IAF.
However, looking at raw specs of the respective systems is entirely useless in this conversation because it is not like an AWACS is an offensive asset that would be facing off with another AWACS (let's put aside the possibility of jamming each other). Instead one needs to factor in each side's NCW capabilities, how the AWACS are integrated with this and with the other assets in the AFs as well as many other variables.
There is no doubt that the PAF is in pretty decent shape on the AEW front considering the number of platforms they have (officially) and a far smaller land mass to cover, the IAF is in a far more precarious position with just 3 (5 more on the way but still) to cover the entire Indian land mass right down to the far flung A&N islands.

New Recruit
3 reasons .Why is india always playing catchup
Armed drones
Aip subs
AWACS
Missiles
India is always reacting late and often over reacts by throwing billions at Russia Israel or the west
I'd say the chances of that are pretty high, don't you think the DRDO AWACS mated with the European A330 would be an attractive product for the likes of France and the UK whose E-3s have been given life-extension programs but in 10 years or so time will be on their last legs.If DRDO did AWS with the AWACS system then we're porblably looking at a block buster product for the international markets too!

Yea man, just like the fictional Indian superpower.
India is headed towards becoming an arms exporter. Trash talking won't change that.
Talking out of your snoot as usual, my friend? Are you aware of China's threat perceptions? Do you know who their potential adversaries are? Are you aware of the huge area they have to keep an eye on - the areas of interest and areas of influence?
China needs to cover the entire South China Sea, Japan, Vietnam, half a dozen littoral countries, Tibet and mainland China. So how many AWACs would they need? Much more than what they've got!
You think anything you can produce can match the 3rd generation AESA in the recently inducted
KJ-500? Whatever India produces by itself will be inferior to the Chinese.
Not sure how good the stuff is India obtained from Jews, but Chinese radar technology is now at least as good if not better.
one of these days you people will realize that a weapon doesnt need to be built locally in order to hurt enemy.
DRDO AEW&CS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaCan you share the details of local AWACS being built in India?
