Indian pharma companies spend the lowest on R&D, its about 4-5%, rest spend around 10-12% of their sales

Indian IT is a business solution, with less focus to consumer oriented application, hence innovation here also is slow
Telecom in India has miles to go, there isnt any innovation there that world around hasnt adopted yet

Indian pharma companies spend the lowest on R&D, its about 4-5%, rest spend around 10-12% of their sales

Thats what I am saying privatization in defense will only bring capacity for doing more nut and bolt engineering and nothing more. Those who talk that western companies will part with their precious cutting edge tech are only dreaming. There is not appetite for doing big buck R&D in India. PPl only look for quick fixes.

Who said that there is no scientific break through in the private defense sector? There is a bunch of examples disproving that. General Electric makes some great military aircraft engines for example. What about Boeing? What about Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics? They made the F-16. GD also made the Abrams and the Stinger. The F-22 and the F-35 are also developed by private companies.

india has the most number of computer engineers yet india has not produced a single local operating system and microprocessor. infosys company of india and qnx company of canada... almost the same year of establishment... some 30 years ago... infosys has no operating system to its name... qnx has the best operating system in the world ( qnx neutrino ).
