What's new

India should market LCA Tejas Trainer has lead-in fighter trainer (LIFT)

Yak-130 - $15 million
Hongdu L-15- $14 million
T-50- $21 million

LCA Tejas- $35 million and increasing.

Case Closed

Every citizen of India? Design? Ridiculous and off topic.

This is not about learning, concepts and ideas. Its about providing a lightweight multirole fighter plane to the IAF to replace aging soviet fleet. Guess what aging soviet fleet is retiring and no replacement coming for them as Tejas is years away from induction. LCA project has failed in its primary/main objective.

Better than bisons? The bison is bvr capable. R-77 is used and certified on both bis and bison. Tejas has neither capability nor certification.

U r not trolling

U r not false flagger

What are you doing ? Who are you ?:chilli:

derolo = derailing ?

R u not proud of anything in your country ?

Certainly not derailing.

The first step towards fixing a problem is accepting there is a problem not pretending that the problem does not exist and instead act as if everything is 100 times better than what it would have been if there was no problem.

Im a practical and realistic person.

Of course I am proud of my motherland. But LCA is a glaring embarrassment. Those who believe otherwise are just too ashamed to admit it or are living in acute self-denial

So u want rafale on first try ?

. .

Dude, i dont know Hindi...

what i meant is, u want advanced aircraft like rafale on the first try itself, that too on time ?

atleast we made LCA .,
i am worried about kaveri engine, whether it ll go marut way, hope atleast UAV s use it .. and the R&D continues

Just want a 4th gen multirole fighter. Is it too much to ask? Think about it with a clear mind.

Kaveri has future as commercial ship engine. Financial success probably but military application is doubtful .

Dr. Chander confirmed Kaveri won't be ready even for AMCA which is 1-2 decades away.

R&D never stops. Never. :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

AURA is future. Don't try thinking about it. Let us build an entry level trainer first.

Reaching for the moon but falling flat on the knees seems to be the way D-PSU are conducting operations past few years.

Except ISRO. But its hardly a D-PSU.

It is a fine jet, just not the right one for the IAF I believe. At least in its Mk.1 form.

But for a nation like Argentina, or Colombia.. or many African states.. Tejas has a lot of potential. Will the ADA wise up to that and start pushing the aircraft for export??

Exports will be complicated, its got us, israeli, indian etc parts. The developer in this case the ADA, HAL will need to have alternate parts available, ie a different engine for markets where the us objects to, alternate radar for areas where israelis object to etc etc. This will drive up costs and dev time further.

Considering the export price is expected to be in excess of $35-40m each, i have doubts of its market potential. On top of this you have to take into account HALs inexperience in marketing and aftersales support AND the need to first provide the IAF with their aircrafts mean there is little prospects of exports for many years to come.

Vietnam would have been a potential client for the LCA, to complement the SUs they have, a inventory similar to indias. This would have made both commercial and strategic logic, and they can afford them, but will they?

if Tejas Mk1 was considered for LIFT it's closest rival would be T-50 Golden Eagle, both use the GE 404 engine

T-50 Golden Eagle is just beautiful don't see how Tejas Mk1 would win out against it for orders :undecided:
that maneuverability and agility :woot:.
