I would have thought that was the long term plan, @PARIKRAMA posts on this thread should be read. You can see how the S-400 will be "slotted in" but where the gaps will remain that need to be addressed by other systems. The only way you can have a comprehensive BMD is to have all such systems seamlessly integrated and this is the direction the IAF and SFC have already gone.@Abingdonboy : just one question, can AAD and PAD be integrated with S-400 and green pines to have a comprehensive SAM+BMD network under one command ?? Completely automated just a handful of red tapes from DETECT to DESTROY .
Seriously? This is a HUGE multi-billion USD deal involving localised production, offsets, weapon packages, lifecycle support etc etc. This isn't going to just materialise overnight. And what is it that needs so much "talking about "
Why not a few squadrons of B-2s whilst we are strolling through fantasyland?Pakistan have only choice to go for HQ-26 from China to safe itself from Indian onslaught. And go ahead with mirv on it missiles and J-31.
UNI is one of India's important news agencies.Back in 1996-97 they were the first ones to report on Su-30 purchase by IAF.This "News" does not appear anywhere except this single Unknown website called "UNI India"
Modi using money power to pressure Russia not to sell any defense equipment to Pakistan good for us they are acquiring weapons just for political reasons not for defense needs which proves counter productive.

Ask those who are well versed in military technologies. I'm miles away from all that.First tell us what happened to your Best SAM system Akash?. For rest of Indian congrats.
Did you forget about India's longest serving defence minister, the "Saint", and his intentional procurement paralysis policy?
Subs, S-400. 226T helicopters, Su-30MKI for 11 billion dollars or 11 billion for S-400 alone???
India and Russia may have reached an understanding on three multi-billion dollar defence deals at the Intergovernmental Commission for Military- Technical Cooperation (IGC-MTC), which was held in Moscow yesterday.
Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who was in Moscow for the IGC-MTC, signed a military- technical cooperation agreement with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, news agencies reported without giving out details of the agreement.
A PTI report, quoting unnamed Indian sources said a government to government deal to purchase the S-400 Triumf missile system could very well be signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow in December.
The report said that the talks included leasing of a second Russian nuclear submarine to the Indian Navy. The Indian Defence Minister reportedly set the stage for the inking of an agreement with Russia during Modi's visit for the manufacture of 200 Kamov 226T helicopters in India under the 'Make in India' initiative.
However, a press release from the Russian MoD issued after the IGC-MTC, did not make a mention of these three mega defence deals.
"The sides positively assessed the progress of work on the design of a promising multifunctional fighter aircraft (T-50 or PAK-FA stealth fighter) and a multi-purpose cargo aircraft, licensed production of Su-30MKI fighters and T-90S tanks (and) the implementation of the program for the creation and production of BrahMos missile," the press release said.
The three projects mentioned in the press release, the PAK-FA stealth fighter, the cargo aircraft, Su-30MKI licenced production and T-90S tanks have been issues of concern between India and Russia.
Sir i think 11 bilion for the whole package from mki, ssn, helis and s-400... and as for pak-fa once the deal is signed we need to release over 10 billion for the R&D costs from our side..
LOL
That is very naughty of you!
I would love to see India put its acts together, and implement its arm procurement project as announced, for once. From what I have read, it is not sealed deal yet. It is merely an agreement that Russia and India will sit down and talk about S-400 and other things. It is way too early to throw a party for it. Your compatriots have a tendency to over-hype any military procurement, totally opposite to their Chinese peers. I will congratulate Indian members here if this news turns out to be true.
