India, Saudi Arabia to set up $750 million fund

New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS) India and Saudi Arabia would soon set up a $750 million joint fund to primarily finance infrastructure projects, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry S. Jagathrakshakan said Thursday.

He said the fund will be set up jointly by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and the Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) of India.

"The fund focuses on channelising Saudi investments into Indian infrastructure projects,"
:yahoo::yahoo: :devil:according to a statement released by the ministry of commerce and industry here.

The minister said the fund would be set up soon.

Jagathrakshakan met a delegation of India and Saudi Business Network and discussed the issues affecting the business community of the two countries.

The delegation of the Saudi businesspersons and entrepreneurs showed interests in investing in India's petroleum, petrochemicals, fertilizers, infrastructure, food processing, health care, herbal and medicinal sectors. :smokin:

Similar project in Pakistan will not only turn a massive profit due to total lack of modern infrastructure development but also solve our long term problem extremism and religious bigotry - the roots of which lead to Arabia itself.

Finally a significant step. KSA has shown interest in investing billions in infrastructure sector in India. KSA is trying to diversify its economy from oil. Its a good step and beneficial for both nations.

One should refrain from such troll posts.

One can say that in the past some Saudi support was there for the radicals but now the king is taking good steps like modernization and advancement in education, industry and science in Saudi society.

And not to forget handing over of terrorists India wants.

There is no master - slave relationship, this partnership is of mutual benefit, respect and very long term.

Come on buddy, Jibe on Ummah brotherhood was not needed.

Nations like KSA and China can play an important role in relations between India and Pakistan. Its good that both nations are trying to increase their relations with allies of others. More common allies, more common interest, more the chances of improved relations.

I am not taking a jibe at Saudi government, but let this be an eye opener for our Ummah trolls! We are mentally enslaved by 7th century socialist ideology and will remain so until there is a strong nationalistic reform.

Rivers of Dollars, Dirhams and Riyals was flowing into Pakistan to support all kind of causes but now we are in dire need of investments to uplift the society from extremism into development yet can you quote a single remarkable feat of investment in recent years by any of our Ummah brothers!! Instead, the largest investors remain our most hated perceived enemies "Amreekis".

I am not taking a jibe at Saudi government, business means profit, security and stability - which we are unable to provide due to out past mistakes of trying to be champions of Ummah!

Pakistan needs a strong and visionary leader like King Abdullah!

Pakistan is no more in Saudi block... we are now in opposition block.

On this forum we celebrated the murder of Saudi Ambassador by TTP.

I like to quote on example, In Karachi, prince Talal built a steel plant, (total worth close to 1billion USD) plant was suppose to start in 2008, but zardari regime blocked the agreed facilities, leaving the investor in lurch.

As far i know...... till todate, investor has not earned a single penny... over his 10 year old investment of $1billion, all because of idiotic sectarianism of current regime.

In Pakistan the ideology of wahabi this whabi that is pulling us back.

It has more to do with sectarianism, the current government wants to get away from negative influences and such is our delicate situation that ignoring one side automatically tilts us to another. We need to build a strong national identity to overcome our ideological problems or our demise is not far away.

Do you have special arrangements with mods.? otherwise post is of no value.

Take Light Kid . Stop Accusing People ?? . By the way Please Guide me How did this POST of yours contribute to the Discussion . Pot Calling Kettle Black eh ??

Which one is that? Turks are also friends with Saudi.

Are you now actively joining the Iran block? Because they like to remain independent and without commitments.

But what does killing an ambassador get other than grief to his family members?

That was wrong.

That's weird. I used to think you guys (non-shiites) appreciate salafist movement. :undecided:

Why did you deviate from Saudi's alliance?

How does shifting from Saudi investment to subsidizing indian traders help our national id?

There is no pride in adopting hindi culture or filling your wardrobe with hindi textile and school bag with hindi text books.

I gave you one example of Saudi investment in Pakistan and other one from the daily Saudi bashing on this forum.. in the name of sectarianism.

Even the educated one are not immune to it... which shows no amount of FDI can help us.
