India’s USD 100 Billion Relationship With Israel

What would be the purpose of spending $200 bn on indian military? indian military can't "project" its power across in Asia-Pacific , Central Asia , Middle-East etc .... Heck! india can't even project its power in South Asia.... Pakistan Military blocks india from the West and China blocks india from the North , North-East .... india is spending hundreds of billions $$$ for Bangladesh or Myanmar or what? lol

indian navy will become the strongest in the region but whats the point? indian trade routes are already safe ( not counting piracy threat here...) ....

india can't project is military might in Pakistan AND 'further' than Pakistan (like Afghanistan , Central Asia etc..because Pakistan controls the strategic access to these regions ;) ) ....

All these billion $$$ just make internet fanboys happy and thats it...

Right now , even Saudi Air Force is technology way superior to IAF ...lol and Saudi Arabia has signed the deal of $ 90 billion with USA to further strengthen its military power..specially Air Force....

Remember india is happy that they are getting "RAFAEL" in FUTURE...whereas Saudi Air Force ALREADY has EUROFIGHTERS 2000 which are superior to Rafael ....

this are projections... not the reality... india's first quarter growth is 5.5 %

And this projection here:

By 2025 India will be spending close to $200 BN a year on defence- can you imagine what the military will look like with this kind of spending??!!!

This projection only works if India is able to sustain a 12% average growth rate for the next 13 years.

Does that seem reasonable to you? Even China could only sustain a 10% growth rate for more than a decade at a time.

And this projection here:

This projection only works if India is able to sustain a 10-12% average growth rate for the next 13 years.

India has its own positives and India can afford the defense expenditure in future.

there is a growth of 17% in defence budget this year.. if we even take 13-15 % annual growth in defence budget it is achievable...

Buying Euro fighter or Rafale is one thing and getting TOT and establishing a local defense industry is another thing.

Its not 200 billion PER YEAR. Its an expenditure of 200 billion BY 2025. Which means that expenditure is gonna be split according to need across 13 years. However, I did a calculation taking an average annual growth rate of 5% for India, while keeping a GDP of 2 trillion dollars as the base. Over the next 13 years assuming that growth rate, the approximate GDP (nominal) figure would be around 5.2 trillion USD. Assuming India would spend 3% of its GDP on defence (higher assumption), India will spend 150 billion USD per year, approximately in 2025. Assuming a low of 2% of GDP spent on defence, India would spend around 100 Billion USD.

The IMF?

IMF cuts India growth forecast to 4.9% - The Times of India

So running on those past "projections" doesn't make sense, since a few years ago everyone thought that it was a sure bet for India's growth to keep increasing to double-digits.

In hindsight those projections were massively exaggerated, due to a faulty underlying assumption.

It's a forecast .

The real Indian growth rate in last quarter was 5.5 % which was an increase over the previous quarter .

What projection are you using to come up with that figure?

Especially considering that India's growth has fallen to 4.9%?

the biggest projection he was using to come up with that figure?
is the fact that we r going to have some 100 billion USD business with you guys :what:

How long are you going to paste the same link everywhere.
Besides, you also intentionally miss the fact that the growth of defence budget would be proportional to nominal gdp growth, and not real. And that has been in double digits.
