I believe the point Indushek is making is ,even when Chinese economy was in bad shape ,the defence expenditure still continued(how much,is insignificant),it wasn't brought to halt.

The graph you posted shows the fact Chinese defence expenditure growth is a directly proportional to its economic growth.

GDP % of spending on defence was stable in China's case.

Do you have any proof when you believe the point Indushek is making? Or does Indushek have any?

The chart shows GDP % and Fiscal Revenue % of Chinese spending on defence between 1950 and 2010. Was it stable between 1970 and 1990?

your own graph above shows that china spent a large amount on defence in concordance with the gdp...so why single out India?.....by that logic Pakistan must not be buying any fighter aircraft or ships considering its current economic crisis but that does not happen...does it?
