Comment comes a day after China's offer to, "play a constructive role to improve relations between Pakistan, India." — File

India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Gopal Baglay has made it clear that India is, "ready to have a dialogue with Pakistan ... but in a bilateral framework," ANI reported on Thursday.

Baglay made the remarks in response to China's offer to "play a constructive role to improve the relations between Pakistan and India," which came on Wednesday.

According to ANI, Baglay said, "Our stand is absolutely clear as far as I recall on the remarks, which motioned that Kashmir issue is central to peace and stability. All of us know that the heart of the matter is cross-border terrorism perpetrated on India, including Jammu and Kashmir."

"We are ready to have a dialogue with Pakistan, among other issues, but in a bilateral framework. So the [India's] position of addressing all issues with Pakistan, including the Jammu and Kashmir issue, in a bilateral framework has not changed."

Earlier, on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang had said, "Both Pakistan and India are important countries in South Asia. The conflict between the two countries along the line of control in Kashmir is neither conducive to their own stability and development nor regional peace and tranquillity."

"China hopes relevant parties to do more to help with regional peace and stability and refrain from escalating the tension. China stands ready to play a constructive role to improve the relations between Pakistan and India," Shuang had said in a press conference.

The remarks from both sides come amid rising border tension between India and China. Indian and Chinese troops are reportedly facing off on a section of land high in the Himalayas near what is known as the tri-junction, where Tibet, India, and Bhutan meet.

China has alleged that the Indian troops are on its soil, but both Bhutan and India say the area in question is Bhutanese territory.

India, which has a military presence in Bhutan, says its troops approached a Chinese army unit that entered the Doklam area of the Himalayan nation on June 16 and tried to build a road.

On June 27, China had accused Indian border guards of crossing into its territory from the state of Sikkim on India's northeastern border with Tibet, complicating an already difficult relationship.

At the time Shuang had said that Indian guards “obstructed normal activities” by Chinese forces on the border and called on India to withdraw immediately.

we all know hue and cry of India. when Pakistan was diplomatically ready to talk with India that time India denied every humble request of Pakistan about resolving the issue of kashmir.. and now when Pakistan federal Govt facing Panama Case and in trouble then india played her card

India also offered this so called bilateral framework in 2014
Ready to talk Jammu and Kashmir within bilateral framework: India to Pakistan

but what happened India backstabbed us by using her proxies to sabotage CPEC

1. what is this so called bilateral framework by the way ?

2. i am really Concern if Bhutan request India to interfere.. so there should be an Official statement/Agreement with India by Bhutan please share with me if any.. (Dont Quote the crap of News)

3. India has shown the Concern about Siliguri Corridor which is in my opinion it's just a lack of trust between China & India... otherwise siliguri Corridor is miles far away from Sikkim border and there are many barriers in term of rivers, difficult terrain and many hurdles that ensure the safety of both sides naturally so Siliguri Corridor should not be a concern from Indian side if china just want to construct a road.

4. China has ambition to link with Nepal & Bhutan as china already wanna link among many countries using OBOR that is why China is building this Road too... and India already denied any participation in OBOR.. so looks like it's geopolitics war rather then misunderstanding between both Countries..

in my opinion India should join OBOR.. and China should play a constructive role to join Bhutan as well as Nepal in this bigger project.. India is moving toward two front bit by bit because of India's unwarranted concerns & and it's not good for regional connectivity and prosperity of the region.

on the other end Pakistan & India should negotiate on Kashmir crises & issues and also other issues too.

Edit:

i have been watching Indian comments since tomorrow. and mostly of them emphasized on Shimla Agreement.
but they forgot that this is india who always violate the Shimla Agreement by ignoring every humble request of Pakistan to resolve the kashmir issue as written in agreement that both countries have to negotiate without any interfering of 3rd party, so India should not have denied Pakistan request since long time to resolve the issue according to agreement..

Indian reached at peak hypocrisy yet...

so in return 3rd party have to interfere

China offering to mediate...is just getting back at India as a response to India China stalemate at Sikkim sector.

Also talks between India and Pakistan is in Pakistan's court. Just asking for talks, talks and talks is not going to bring India to tables. Pakistan should show some sincerity...how about punishing 26/11 culprits for a start...it has been almost 10 years since that terror attack happened, and none punished. I am sure India cannot say no to talks if Pakistan show some sincerity on 26/11 case.

.
We even dont allow West or UN let alone some Chinese mens.
Next time GoI may mentions about Free Tibet .
i have frustrated with Indian trolls. i request you if you dont have constructive thought or discussion then dont come here on PDF

. .
Everybody offers mediation, India rejects it stating it's a bilateral issue, which is since Shimla agreement it has become a bilateral issue without any choice for outside mediation, but what's Pakistan's stance?
Are they so desperate to have a mediator?

The copy of shimla agreement

And Indo-Bhutanese friendship treaty 07

So any third party in Kashmir conflict is out of question.

Just for a change, I am feeling perhaps this could have been a good opportunity for India to solve Kashmir problem peacefully. Given the Chinese stake in West Kashmir and Punjab, perhaps a talk on turning the status quo into a permanent boundary would look lucrative to the Chinese.

.
Thats not a news. and I think the background is old because currently India and China are speaking on Bhutan issue

. .
China can't even remove Indian troops from its territory let alone mediate in Kashmir.

.
India will never solve Kashmir issue peacefully!! They will never sit on table with table party as madiator because their case is weak Kashmiris want freedom from india and her barbaric army
