India-Pakistan through the Israel-Palestine Mirror

@VCheng does seem very steadfast, for the lack of a better word, I mean in all other contexts I would find myself siding with Israel but its a bit distasteful to go about ignoring bombing schools, doesn't seem to faze V though.o_O

Are you forgetting UN schools being used to store weapons?

A given factor but with avoidable percentages. A person with a sniper will have lesser collateral than one with a scopeless rifle.

Yes, that is correct. But each campaign must take into account factors specific for it. For example, what would be the percentages if a similar operation were to be carried out in, say, Karachi?

.
I have described the equation based on military forces carrying out their sworn duty in both cases. Do you wish to point out how that is not correct?
i dont want to sound stupid to justify such a simple thing either.

No Sir, not at all. I know you are a trained military professional, and hence logic and rules must make sense to you more than many others here.

Sir, I'd think that even the much reviled Pakistani forces would falter before hitting a school which has children in it, weapons or no weapons, I know for a fact that our CAPFs do not assault schools which are used by naxals, this is after the fact that the naxals could teach Hamas a thing or two in the field of brutality, like rigging casualties with pressure activated IEDs and leaving them for civilian first responders (they cut up a martyred personnel, just a slight bit into the belly, placed said device and laid him face down, hoping to catch whichever fellow would turn him over).

i always thought you had some brain, but never knew that instead of it being inside your skull, it was pushed up your anus.

.
I wonder if it's even a fair comparison..India n Pakistan are by no means a case of aggressor vs. weaker victim as are Israel n Palestine. The whole Eurocentric tone of the write-up is pretty cliched...the usual western attempt at looking at everything through an "orientalist" glass leading to erroneous over-simplification!

I could reply Sir, but again, like so many times before, I choose not to do so.

Oh wait, TTP had been blowing up schools in Swat, claiming that they housed the soldiers, whereas the ratio was; out of a 100 schools that they had destroyed 1 might have had a few soldiers staying overnight.

VCheng justified TTP's actions back then also, no wonder he is doing it again, this time in support of IDF.

At least a few years then?

Reporting from FATA: A difficult feat and not enough in return – The Express Tribune Blog
September 10, 2012 | The tribal areas of Pakistan, from where news outflow makes headlines all over the world, focuses largely on the war on terror. Journalists reporting from the region say they are being neglected, even though they have to risk their lives to report day-to-day affairs from the war-torn area.

A journalist from Kurram Agency’s restive area says the biggest issue facing journalists from the tribal region is financial security. According to him, journalists never get staff status in this area and work as stringers receiving low salaries. Additionally, journalists in Peshawar and Islamabad use the information provided by tribal journalists and sell it off at much higher prices.

Eye of the storm: FATA reporters brave frontlines with no support from ‘settled’ countrymen – The Express Tribune

Shakirullah said they do not receive financial grants from any authorities, except for a nominal amount given by the political administration, which is quickly used up in salaries.
“Journalists here have no other source of income,” said Shakirullah. “This is why the youth is reluctant to join our profession, as there are many threats and no compensation.”

Not seeing the official ban on journalism in F.A.T.A., perhaps now since the start of Operation in North Waziristan, but not before it. There has been regular reporting from that region, not as much as the rest of the country for reasons quite obvious, but the complete media blackout now and then doesn't appear to be true.

i just wanted to show that you equating Gaza with NWA had the same amount of logic that prevailed when i wrote post # 95.

Every force would hesitate to attack a school, but each situation must be evaluated on its own merits too. Given that Israel is losing the war of public opinion, Hamas must think that its strategy of provoking outrage but creating the condition necessary to sacrifice a few hundred or more of its population may not be an unsuitable trade-off to give them an advantage.

Sir, in both cases, the military is carrying out an operation targeting those who are attacking their civilians indiscriminately. What part of this equation is incorrect, in your view?

.

There are weapons in schools, hospitals, buildings, electricity plants,UN camps, mosques and virtually every place imaginable? The rest can, of course be attributed to collateral damage. You see your logic which you are continuingly basing your arguments on?

No official ban? Of course. An effective control of all coverage without any independent verification? Yes. Undoubtedly.

Sir, look at it this way. The rockets are still being fired from somewhere, and they are being stored somewhere too. Where? I do not know.

No wonder you are weak in Maths. 2+2 is not always 4.

I have no idea, as to what you are looking for, then. Just a post before, there was no independent journalism allowed inside the tribal region and just another one before, a complete media blackout.
