India-Pakistan through the Israel-Palestine Mirror

Just like there is no official ban on Geo?

There have been no independent journalists allowed in FATA. That is a verifiable fact.

Not the topic here, but suffice to say that both Pakistan and Israel are engaged in military operations against those who target their civilian populations indiscriminately.

Everything can be claimed as true, by that logic. Presence of something just because no-one knows about it? Russell's tea-pot? Who were the ones interviewing the terrorists leaders and the cadres then or reporting on their lifestyle? They have had visitors, if the journalists haven't been allowed at all, since a long time according to you, how did that happen?

That is the other side? Both operate against those who target civilians?

When was the last time you saw such a report?

As @Xeric will probably tell you. Indirect fire support while being bread and butter for any army is always tricky, even with the best fire discipline you REALLY DO NOT WANT TO DEPLOY IT when your soldiers are "danger close". In fact you can easily use the net to find out the distance from the point of strike (as in a rough area encompassed by a circle with the point of strike as the center) which is encompassed in the region within which you would be danger close. Indirect fire support in a densely populated civilian area is to "avoiding collateral damage" as a perforated wiener hat is to avoiding STDs.

In fact, I think @DESERT FIGHTER might shed some light too, correct me if I am wrong, but you've got family working with gunners, no?

And that's exactly my point.

You simply don't fire arty at Urban centres.

Arty, tanks using their main guns in built up areas with known civvies taking shelter instead of their anti-personnel LMGs, flechette rounds, rumors of DIME being employed (the last bit is truly unverifiable, but some docs allegedly stated that they came across wounds which might match the DIME profile), if this is avoiding collateral damage then the Gazans best pray that Bibi doesn't start listening to his folks in the Knesset who are even WAY MORE right leaning than him.

Not that long to say that there has been a complete media ban on F.A.T.A. since a long time. A couple of months before the start of the operation, I think. When the peace drama was going on and there were hordes of Mullahs hopping to the land of milk and honey.

@Fulcrum15 I don't know how accurate this is, or how trust worthy PressTv is, but here you go..

Mind you, DIME weapons are seriously not kosher, one may wonder why it would be so bad to use said munitions if one is going to bomb a certain area anyway, I would suggest reading up on DIME weapons before opining on it.

It is also fair to keep in mind that FATA is, for the lack of a better word, "evacuatable" whereas Gaza is not. What then?
What then?

Kill every child that comes in rage.

Logical, right?

Emotions aside, Sir, put yourself, as a military man, in the uniform of the Israeli commander ordered to conduct an operation to prevent targeting of your nation's civilians. After all, it is your sworn duty to do this sacred job to the bast of your abilities. Or refuse? If so, then how can the operation in FATA be carried out, for, logically speaking, it is on the same premise.

Nothing can be discussed further if you are so stupid to equate Gaza with NWA.

.
You quoted superficial remark on what is a much deeper issue as the gospel for your PoV?

No. It was meant to show that militarily speaking, collateral damage is a given factor.

@VCheng does seem very steadfast, for the lack of a better word, I mean in all other contexts I would find myself siding with Israel but its a bit distasteful to go about ignoring bombing schools, doesn't seem to faze V though.o_O

I have described the equation based on military forces carrying out their sworn duty in both cases. Do you wish to point out how that is not correct?

.
No. It was meant to show that militarily speaking, collateral damage is a given factor.

A given factor but with avoidable percentages. A person with a sniper will have lesser collateral than one with a scopeless rifle.
