India, Pakistan and the Battle for Afghanistan

.
I don't know why many Pakistanis consider Arab, Afghan, Iranian, Mongol and Turk invaders as "heroes", there was nothing "heroic" about them.. They were invaders. Period.

Agree, and these guys didnt do anything good for their own people either, they consumed all our human and financial resources to capture india and thats it, instead of that they could invest in something productive for the country and people. It is unfortunate the pakistanis know alot about these invasions of india and know abolutely nothing about the other era of our history which is briliant part of history of Khorasan(Today Afghanistan). The kings and empires of Samanian, Safarian, Tahiryan and even Ghaznawian are the proudest era of our history but pakistani friends know nothing about them. those people brought all type of progress in the country, language and culture progress was at its peak, soci-economic progress, education(to the standard of that time) and you could see everything good in those times, Yaqub Laith Safari, Amir Ismail Samani, Tahir Poshangi, Masoud Ghaznavi, Amro Laith were the most brilliant kings. just because they didnt invade india and loated them so nobody know these governments and good people.

Nobody knows about Abo Ali Sina Balkhi, Bedil, Molana Jalaludin mohamd Balkhi, Ferdosi, Sanai, Daqiqi and many many more, but they all know about the invasions.

Mr. Desiman, I have been a harsh person for you, but clearly read the sentence above, since you have posted for brotherhood. The problem with that sentence is there is no proof, and that relates to people in this forum as equally as the great Mr. Abdul Basit (the great foreign Ministry of Pakistan). Do You get it, Mr. brotherhood.......

My.Jeypore, yes you have been harsh for unknown reasons. I have been reading your comments also and frankly i am not impressed. Secondly read the article and read the source where it comes from. Did i leave a comment about what my opinion is ? did i say anything after that ? did i justify Pakistan's position ? If i have not passed any comments on the matter you do not have any right to question my commitment. I am as patriotic and love my country as much or more than you. But that does not automatically mean that i need to hate Pakistan also. As your comment about mr.brotherhood goes, yes i do believe in my Indian democracy and solving matter through talks and peace. Next time refrain from posting sarcastic digs at me, as I do take great offence to that.
Regards
DM

Fersosi was from Toos which is present day Iran, so he is considered Iranian, but because of the same culture, language and ethnicity i mentioned his name.

I think this is good to be non violent, dont you think so? every human being no matter man or woman must be non violent, violence brings all sort of social problems and eventually anarchy. It is the main cause of all problems, look at afghanistan and you'll know what i mean.

Oh Come on yar Afghanistan is like our Client state or Fifth Province.Indian's should not waste their energies in Afghanistan because Ultimately Pakistan has the game.

Close Relations with ONLY PAKISTAN.Don't Poke your Nose in our backyard.

If every Pakistani thinks like this ..i dont think India will have to do much to win the hearts of Afghan people ..because you guys are doing it for us..you expect a country to be friendly with you while you think its as your province and consider as your backyard??

Sir... :D

Not all Pakistanis think like this, and for once I don't consider Afghanistan as our 5th province. Afghans have suffered alot and they really need some peace and stability in their country.

Me and many other Pakistanis are trying their best to win the hearts of Afghan people (only if they are willing to accept our friendship, stop talking about Durand line issue, stop claiming 2 provinces of Pakistan as their provinces, and consider Pakistani people and Pakistani government as 2 separate things). Many Afghans are bitter at us Pakistanis and some of their bitterness is rightfully explained. I hope we can solve our differences and move on towards peace and prosperity.

I for once don't have any problem with Indians helping Afghans either... if they are really doing it with good intentions and not doing it just to destabilize Pakistan.:D:D

One thing i must say is that pakistanis are ignorant and extremely biased they think history in pakistan starts only with arab conquest of sindh and have this horrible habit of supporting people just because there muslims regardless of whether they were right or wrong and invaders or not :hitwall:

India rethinking Afghan policy

* NSC meeting mulls engaging Taliban, interacting with Pak Army, intelligence
* India says it won’t scale down Afghan operations in wake of Kabul attack

By Iftikhar Gilani

NEW DELHI: India is planning to open channels of communication with the Afghan Taliban to remain relevant, in the wake of the Western pullout and the fast deteriorating situation in Afghanistan.

Media reports suggest that a host of options were discussed at a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC), chaired by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on February 12, which included engaging the Taliban and opening channels of communication directly with the Pakistan Army and its intelligence to ensure safety of its citizens and interests in Kabul. Experts called it a “cold” and “hard” reality.

Intelligence experts have also asked the Indian government to explore alternative political pastures as Afghan President Hamid Karzai was too week to stand the Western pullout. The NSC meeting also decided to step up diplomatic efforts to involve Iran, Russia and Central Asian Republics to prevent handing over of Afghanistan to Pakistan on a platter.

They described Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir’s tough talking during the recently-concluded talks in New Delhi as an indicator of these “realities”, which has boosted Pakistan’s confidence.

Recently, India’s former deputy national security adviser Satish Chandra had also questioned New Delhi’s treatment of the Taliban as “untouchables”. He revealed that during former premier Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure, contacts had been established with militants, including warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. “Once in power, the Taliban’s national interests will inevitably over time lead them to view us more favourably unless we treat them as untouchables. This has been true of most regimes in Afghanistan and may well be true of the Taliban if we play our cards right and do not gratuitously rub them the wrong way,” he added.

Operations: Separately, Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash on Saturday said India would not scale down its operations in Afghanistan in the wake of the February 26 attack in Kabul.

:tup: Wow Khanz we think alike! :D Pakistanis should learn a thing or two from Egyptians and Iranians. They have never forgotten their glorious pre-islamic past. Iranians celebrate Nowrooz and are very proud of their pre-Islamic Kings like Cyrus, Xerxes etc Same can be said about Egyptians. But for many Pakistanis (although I must say that many Pakistanis have started to think differently in recent times), the history starts with Mohammed Bin Qasim invasion of Sindh... :flame:
