India, Pakistan and the Battle for Afghanistan

:tup: Wow Khanz we think alike! :D Pakistanis should learn a thing or two from Egyptians and Iranians. They have never forgotten their glorious pre-islamic past. Iranians celebrate Nowrooz and are very proud of their pre-Islamic Kings like Cyrus, Xerxes etc Same can be said about Egyptians. But for many Pakistanis (although I must say that many Pakistanis have started to think differently in recent times), the history starts with Mohammed Bin Qasim invasion of Sindh... :flame:

yes i am not religious but i'm muslim i don't hate the mughals but I dunno why pakistanis glorify only mughals and other muslims invaders what about indus valley civilization ? it should be glorified too but it is completely ignored because it was hindu/buddhist and pre-islam :disagree:

Yeah I don't hate Mughals either.. They did some good things too.. I learned alot about the Mughal contributions to art and architecture when I took a class in "Art of India". Even though Mughals were not natives of India, their loyalty was with India. One of the last surviving Mughal Princess works as a librarian in Delhi, India. :D Almost all her family has migrated to Pakistan, but she refused to leave India. All this was mentioned in the book City of Djinns by William Dalrymple. :D

True, Afghanistan is the same, people have very much connected themselves to their past. As you mentioned Norooz, it is widely and with much enthusiasm is celebrated in Afghanistan, Tajkistan and Samarqand/Bukhara. Pakistan/india can do the same thing, they have got rich history and can be proud of it, why not?

Ahmad you were asking me, where indigenous Pakistani Tajiks live (Wakhi Tajiks). Here is an ethnic map I found on the internet. They live in the extreme northern parts of Pakistan (shown in orange), parts where Pakistan almost touches Tajikistan :-

Panjabis 24%? i thought they are well above 55%? I think it might be because they have considered Jats separate from Panjabi.

Thanks alot for the map.

Thanks alot for the map.

They have further divided the main ethnicities into sub-ethnicities... Jatts, Seraikis are sub-ethnicites of Punjabis in this map.. Punjabis = 24.62 + Jatts = 22.76 + Saraikis = 10.23 = 57.61%

The map is very good at showing WHERE ethnicities of Pakistan live, but as far as numbers are concerned it is pretty outdated. Punjabi population of Pakistan is leveling off in recent years and Pushton population is increasing because of high Birth Rates... Punjabis make up 48% of Population nowadays

Hi asq, we both probably at the same place(As per our flags).
Now its not passion ignition, but facts.
Here what every sensible person is saying, just let the Afghans live in peace, they have had enough.

Afghans are Muslims first and Afghans later, and so are Pakiatanis, u are trying to devide us by your clever talk.

We the Pakistanis were host to 6 Million Afghans when Russians invaded Afghanistan and we still have 3 million or so in Pakistan, Many of them have settled parmanantly. Let me see if India will host 3 Million Afghans.

Our future is same, our Religion is same and we are the first one to want them to live in peace as our neighbours and bros.

But there a ugly force out there who want to devide us and want us to fight, thier designs will be beaton and we as Muslims will come together and have Ghazwa-E-Hind.

So don't go spreading lies and inuendos, Cause it will not work in the long run.

Truth has a way of winning when u least expected.

^^^ So after two decades of failed policies you still wan to go back to the 90s in Afghanistan? The support that the Taliban and other extremists group in Afghanistan got from ISI/PA was one of the reasons responsible for refugees going to Pakistan and Iran and other parts of the world.

Btw, its was the NWFP and FATA that hosted the refugees and at its height it was 5 million. At present there are 1.7 million in Pakistan and under a million in Iran and most of the refugees have returned to Afghanistan. By 2012, the majority are expected to be repatriated.

well india hosts 3 million bangladeshis. should bangladesh then become part of india? obviously not. betterment of this region lies in the fact that we all accept sovereignty of each other.

as far as ghazwa e hind is concerned dont wait for it. we will be the first one to get invaded as we are still part of indian sub continent (or indian plate in geological terms). and as far our leaders are concerned they are highly corrupt. similar with our ppl who dont leave any chance to make profit at the cost of poor.
unless you are talking about the zaid hamid promoted ghazwa e hind which is far from wat is said in ahadith

My.Jeypore, yes you have been harsh for unknown reasons. I have been reading your comments also and frankly i am not impressed. Secondly read the article and read the source where it comes from. Did i leave a comment about what my opinion is ? did i say anything after that ? did i justify Pakistan's position ? If i have not passed any comments on the matter you do not have any right to question my commitment. I am as patriotic and love my country as much or more than you. But that does not automatically mean that i need to hate Pakistan also. As your comment about mr.brotherhood goes, yes i do believe in my Indian democracy and solving matter through talks and peace. Next time refrain from posting sarcastic digs at me, as I do take great offence to that. Regards
DM

Good, but wasn't the question about the article you posted and about India's involvement in Afgan with bad intentions, with the quotation of Pakistanie establishment making it Public to the world.

By the way, again sir, I need proof from you for posting such article and others in this forum to prove this is true.... Do you understand or you are just trying to prove to me that your next kid on the block!!!

Thanks.
