no, they can't do anything. it would be an international treaty not a bilateral one. we always have the option of choke their water in case they try to halt the supply, with a justification.

First of all lets see if its hot gas like IPI which failed to materialise.

The other (factor) being its ADB sponserd deal whose neck is involved in the smooth operation of gas flow. In caso contrario ADB stands to loose alongwith every player on the table.

But lets see the mechanism first.

it is not that easy man to block the supply. we would always have surplus of natural gas because we have $$$ (huge foreign reserve). you can survive without gas but can't without water. it would be suicidal

It is part of bigger game. USA wants to isolate Iran thats for they are pushing it for TAPI. Russia don't want any competition in European market. Once TAPI will be done gas from central Asia will come to South Asia instead of European countries.

But it does mean that we are losing our advantage of controlling the waters.

In fact we are surrendering our advantage.

First.. This is an extremely long shot.. More of a noise than any thing concrete
Second, if it happens, it wont be the only source of fuel to India. Also the contract will be between Pakistan and the T in the TAPI to deliver the gas to India. Pakistan fails to do that, its between those 2, while India finds another source.

Ladies and gentleman, this project is being FINANCED by ADB, who would make sure that it does not loose money on this and subsequent lawsuits arising from the same. This is 21st century, the mechanism would be water tight for Pakistan to play any mischeif.
