India Offers “Tejas” to Sri Lanka To Counter Pakistan’s JF-17

About 200 LCA has been ordered of all variants and has trainers. You do realize that a human loses consciousness in 6 G? T/W ratio of LCA is better than that of JF 17. LCA already has trainers up and flying along with Naval variants that have already done Ski Jumps. LCA is wayyyyyy more mature than JF 17 that has only 40 jets, most called 'prototypes' and no trainers almost a decade after 'induction'.

Lolll is taking a sub standard product like Thunder and peddling it as good.

'20 years' is standard time frame. And if people are under the impression that they can fly without trainers, god help them. This plane took 2 years from 1st fligjt to induction....that's called 'joke'.

LCA can onli be sold if it has indian made engine and radar , EW suit & ECM + all kinds of wepon systems till then all such news is fake :coffee:


its a fake news india cant offer any third party LCA with american engine and israeli wepons and avionicks

Jf17 is also not all pak made, China and Russia involved.

Russia can very well veto its engine sale , and offer Yak trainer cum light fighter instead , at even more competitive price.

Safety issues. The J-7 even though an improvement over the Mig-21 design still had huge low speed and low altitude flaws which effects take off and landing. The are extremely unforgiving, because the Mig-21 design is that of a missile with a cockpit.
The JF-17 is actually a modification of the j-7. The similarities are the their except, top speed has been reduced to provide better low speed handling. But still has the flaws of the j-7 which is why the PLAAF settled with J-10 instead.
Lanka, well if the do buy JF-17, it would be interesting. However, Lanka has received money from India to help fight the Tamil Tigers. Now that the war is over, India may no longer require a veil for domestic consumption.
We will see how this turns out.

For your Sake its difficult to stop India even for US

1. Total No. of Engine required could be for 125 Mk1, 80 Trainer/lift, 40 naval + MK-2, AMCA for IAF and IN alone. could reach 1000 nos, and looking at the investment of GE in India, including Naval engines for ships, etc, do you know how much stake is high.

2. India have EJ200 option also, and in most worst case Kaveri -2.

3. Relation with US and India is very good now, and relation with Europe and Russia is also not Bad don't you think.

tejas is expensive more than 30 millon while jf 17 block 2 has only 22 millon by calculating from sales at paris air show of 8 planes at 175 millon

You'll recover that cost simply by lower maintenance alone. Tejas Airframe has no rivets and is not subject to corrosion or environmental elements. Overall cost will drop further with the massive order that the jet has got. Plus since Bangalore is fairly close Colombo access and servicing costs will be low.

2. Open the above link and read AFs around the world have now opted this technique and are training their pilots with it, so those people are brain dead and only you are right??
3. It is an understood fact that PAF is happy with simulators and pilots are getting their training well that's why you see JF 17 Flying in every Air show and even it is used in combat situation.
4. For buyers,, dual seat variant will be available in 2016.

Third, our spies in Lanka can easily work out the tech details which will be made to make Tejas more than a match for JF.

your joke plane is no better than an upgraded Mig-21, but at least Mig-21 made its fame of being a lethal platform in its time, but your LCA has also made the fame of being the joke of modern aviation indsutry (after more than 30 years of foreign know-how supports and direct imports of core parts, your primitive industry still cant figure out how to build an out-dated crappy plane :lol: )

First there is no harm in appreciating the real ones who designed and created the aircraft i..e Chinese. China make FC-1 without trainer to lower the development Price. Second Pakistan haven't ordered a Trainer, but China is developing trainer to get more orders in international market. And third Simulator aided the pilot for safer training, and for practicing, lowering the training price and lowering the maintenance and increasing the TBO of the aircraft, and is not the MUST, but a necessity for the Airforce, for new pilots training. and LCA tejas don't have a Simulator.

Tejas is not just a Plane, but the whole program, aiming to create the whole ecosystem in the country, and creating an aircraft from zero to 4+ gen fighter plane with 4 critical technology also from the scratch like FBW, FACEEC, Composites, and Turbofan Engine will take at least 35 for any country. Do you know the Budget of Tejas is well inside 1.25 Billion and which country manage to crate the 4th gen fighter plane by first creating the institution that do so.
Developing a fighter plane in house is long and difficult process, but its fruits come with great benifits. Many of us didn't realize that Tejas is present in the Jaguar Darin-2, and Mig 27 Upgrade program, or the EW suite of the MKI, which was produced for the Tejas.

1. You didn't quoted me specifically, but you was somehow challenging everyone that Simulator have replace the trainer role in the modern world
2. The AF around the world opted this technique to lower down the training cost, in a safer environment, but Simulator could not replace the real trainer completely till now. Technology have created the Simulator to be more realistic, and now we have the simulator like the DOME by the US, which gives the pilot feels 360 degree realistic environment, and soon the pilot will get the 5D effect also aka feel of gravity, g-force etc. This will lower the training cost, but still I feels trainer whould always be there, to give the Pilot to give the realistic feel, and not the feeling, and the output of the simulated values by the simulator computer, based on the data feeded for a fighter plane.
3. It was not the PAF, but the Chinese who is interested more in the trainer version, because the aim of the Chinese for JF-17 is the export.
4. I think the realistic date should be 2017-18. For LCA trainer version which is a Superlative LIFT also, could be used in the wars for CAS mission, which is also an advantage, and another advantage could be that it could be easily used for the pilot for training of MKI, whose controls gauge, and instruments could be MIMIC with the glass cockpit of the LCA trainer, thus increasing the TBO life of MKI.
