India Offers “Tejas” to Sri Lanka To Counter Pakistan’s JF-17

. .
So, its good. Why this worrying you?

BTW, till now how pilots are training without tandem seater?

PAF dont need trainers?

I never laughed so much on your idiocies.
They don't need one sirji they our born fighters haven't you heard 1 PAF pilot = 10 Hindu veggie pilot :P

. .
1. When will the final version of the tejas be available for export, 2018, 2020, 2025? I doubt a definitive export version of the tejas will be available until the early to mid 2020s.

2. The quoted price for the IAF is $27m and the current estimated export price is $36m - $40m. What will the final price be?

3. What is the track record of HAL when it comes to marketing and after sales support?

4. What else is or will be available on the market at a comparable price when it is finally available? The philipines recently ordered the south korean F50 which seems to have similar specs, the J17, mig 35, J10, grippen, even updated second hand F16s....

If you realistically take these into consideration the prospects for the tejas aren't good.
1. Tejas was never designed and aimed for export like FC-1, and LCA have home orders also, 125 MK-1A + 36 as Superlative LIFT.

2 Tejas Program is already a hit, because IAF have ordered MK-1A, and work on MK-2 is going on.

3. The time Period for the availability of the export should be > 2025, but when MK-2 would be ready it would be very attractive in the international market Reasons

  • IAF will give the experience and the fame of the airforce, who are very popular to reject the world class fighter plane in trials.
  • with F414 engine, and customer to choose from Israeli (EL/2052, Python, Derby) or Indian (Uttam, Astra) or Russian (Uttam, R73, R77).
  • Variants available LIFT, Carrier based
  • Best of the technology in Cheaper cost comparable class fighter.
  • Composites(High), FBW, FADEEC, Reliable F414

Availability of export & production is not the problem will US allow sale of its engine is the question

.
Why do people use jet trainers ?
Pilots who converted to the JF17 were already accomplished flyers. They were not your green horns fresh out of the academy. For them simulator training was sufficient. Until now this regime was working just fine. A twin seater JF17 means more inexperienced pilots will have a go at flying it.... Btw how do drone pilots train.. Is there a Manned version of the predator?

But hey, they are still top notch pilots capable to defeat Indian pilots training program. I am dying with laugh.
Call an ambulance

except few countries like N. korea, Iran, Myanmar I don't think there is any problem. Does US have problem with the Grippen in Brazil.

Wtf man..Why are you Indians are so stupid? Do you know anything called "Simulators" ?? PAF is using SIMULATORS for pilot training of JF 17 instead of using Trainer variant..! Ever heard of Guy named Alan Warnes? He clearly stated in his magazine that PAF is happy with simuators and don't need any trainer...Those simulators are specifically for JF 17...!
Go fart somewhere else now illiterate people..!

You know about recent spat over LTTE issue & SRL war crime in UN ,its all depend on if US allow

OK, realistically imagine your the sales rep for the tejas. I am the buyer, and I ask you these questions..

1. When will a final export production version be available for delivery? 2025...Probably longer for export customers.
2. What is the per unit export price? Right now the price quoted for export, is around $40m excluding training, spares and support, by 2025 it will be a lot lot more...its just the way these things are.
3. HALs reputation is not that great as a reliable partner, even with its biggest customer the IAF.
4. The tejas has components from various countries, the US, Europe, Israel and Russia apart from india. If I buy it what guarantee do I have that those countries won't stop support? For example what if the US refuses the resale license for the f414 engine, or israel or europe?
5. Right now even the South Korean F50 has a similar spec, its already flying , has got export sales, is cheaper and its from a reliable supplier...then theres the grippen, j17, j10, mig 35....etc...or even upgraded second hand f16s. Why should we wait a decade for the tejas.

You see, for the tejas export sales is going to be a uphill battle...

Oh then theres the question of how many countries are in the market for a $40m+ 4th generation single seater light fighter...in 2025? If india stuck original concept of developing a low cost fighter to replace the huge numbers of mig 21/23 by 2005, then yes but not at the price point of $40m+.

Lets assume Sri Lanka buys Tejas...how will they take it there :)
Udda kay but this might happen with super JF 17 due to distance :)
