GAGAN is not standalone Navigation system, its augumented navigation based on GPS, the standalone navigation system is IRNSS.

GAGAN should take signal from IRNSS, GPS and GLONASS. It will be more accurate. I think other than Pakistanis and Bangladeshis other countries will use it including south east asia and middle east.

The article itself is wrong.

GAGAN is not the Indian equivalent of GPS. GAGAN is a SBAS - Space Based Augmentation System. It can work with GPS, Glonass, IRNSS(Indian system).

It boosts the accuracy of all GPS signals for enhanced airspace efficiency. Its a good idea to offer this to SAARC.

And it is already partially operational with the first phase live.
