From the point of view of the woman, what is important is commitment and security.

In my opinion a secure polygamous marriage can be better than no marriage. However, under Muslim Family Law, protection for women is weak, with men having option for Talaq on a whim, retaining custody of kids, and not having to pay any maintenance.
