I am sorry to say that you are counting too much on this type of economic deal. NS of Pakistan today is a smart leader. He will not pursue the same policy like other leaders of Pakistan. India is not politically strong enough to take up India Iran relation beyond economics and so do Iran is not too much intrested enough to make a side in India Pakistan issue.


So in a nutshell, world has moved on and they stopped seeing everything in a binary mode. Iran will always be inclined towards Pakistan at a political and people to people level. India will have a good relation with Iran on a Gov to Gov level or business level.

I am a great fan of Iran, its culture civilization and its people.But i feel really upset when i go to their media outlets and read the public comments. You will be surprised with the amount of hatred that is displayed for Indian people...

This deal is merely tip of the iceberg, in the larger Indo-Iranian relations.

Both mutually see eachother as counterweight to Pakistan's attempt for influence in middle-east.

NS is not going to or incapable of reversing the damage done to Pakistan-Iran ties right from Zia's era, some of which include.
1. Support for Taliban, a hostile anti-Shia regime which even murdered Iranian diplomats.
2. Close ties with Saudis.
3. Jundallah elements present in Pakistan.
4. Blockage of requested supplies during Iran-Iraq war, despite Iran helping out Pakistan in 1971 war and 1970s Baloch Insurgency.
5. Pakistani state sponsored nurturing of anti-Shia groups like sipah e sahaba directly to counter any Iranian influence among Pak Shia.

How difficult it is to comprehend. India owes 6.5$ billion dollars to Iran and 45% was paid before sanctions. The parties involved in JCPOA asked India to stop exporting oil. But we did. But international monetary transactions are barred. That's why India didn't paid the rest of the money. Later Iran wanted the money that's due in Euros along with 1.5% of interest.

India is not much worried about Israel. Israel and India are definitely friends but India does not expect Israel to suggest anything about our dealing with Iran so does from Iran too. Of course India will be definitely be concerned about US because, some one accept it or not, but US is technically an economic power where no one would like to upset them. It is a reality which every country knows about it. It is a different matter that politically they might not accept it in front of every one.

Anyways, clearly you haven't been outside Iran. Not even 4% Indians look like that. Only few Muslim North Indians and Hindu/Sikh Punjabis and Haryanvis can match that phenotype.

Regardless, Chabahar is good for Iran's trade and geopolitical development, better all shipping to Iran goes there than through another country or into the busy and shallow Persian Gulf. It also helps in the economic development of the province of Balochistan.

But Indian members need to get clarity that there will be no issue between Pakistan and Iran since diplomatic relationship has improved, and even if it wasn't, Iran would never dare to risk Nuclear war with the fourth largest military nation in the world. Hence the cooperating with Pakistan after issuing the visa to Indian operator got caught recently.

India does not want economically stable of Pakistan given their official stances in the threatening tone never mind the official confession from Ajit Doval, in-charge of Indian NSA - personally handpicked by Modi.

Sooner or later Iran will have to make a choice given Indian has openly confessed sponsoring terrorism through Afghan-based terrorist outfit aka TTP in Pakistan that is responsible for killing more than 50,000 innocent people in Pakistan.

Not sure if your observation is true. But in my familiarity among Muslim nations i find good chemistry to make friends with Pakistani and then Iranian only. Pakistani people someway, we always feel close to us in US but apart from that, Iranian are the only people, i find as more comfortable in being a friend with me. But i always find a special superiority mindset of Arabs towards Indian people.
