Your logic is flaw. Do China need Bhutan route for trade? Zero. Same as Nepal.

Do India need Iran oil for future growth? Very likely. Pakistan can easily cut off India lifeline or make India import oil very expensive.

Don't make a fool of yourself, it not economical for china to do business through land route from pakistan.

The only way pakistan could cutoff the supply was to have a pipeline through them (since its economical). But thats not happening. India gets its oil from the sea route and India controls most of it if not owns it. Thats why CPEC since its a strategic route for china.

I think its in India's interest to have strong Iran, both economically and militarily. Being a Shiite Nation, it can act as a bulwark against majority of Sunni states and check them. Next to KSA it has good standing among Muslim nations, and more than once Iran have stood with India, not withstanding remarks on Kashmir which their leaders need to do it for local political purposes.

The indians have been talking about investing in chabahar for over a decade and so far not a thing has been done apart from signing a worthless mou back in 2014,hell even the indian minister quoted in the op at the start of this thread adds the caveat of "if conditions are provided" what ever thats supposed to mean,this is all just more hot air,now if and when the indians actually get serious and put their money where their mouth is then that would be something actually worth talking about.

Gwadar took around from 2002 to have actually a ship now by end of 2016 with 2 berths. And Chabahar was in talks from only around 2008, then got delayed due to financial sanctions. Now it has been lifted, it is proceeding faster considering Indian bureaucracy

Besides, Iran benefits a lot from Pakistan given Central Asia, Turkey, and Russia are also on boards now.

Make no sense with Chabar port that is dependent on one more than nations since India borders Pakistan only. In result, Pakistan is standing between India to Afghanistan to Central Asia which Central Asia is not interested with Afghanistan without guaranteed security protection from Pakistan on the behalf of Afghanistan.

So whats india waiting for then?,one would think that with the lifting of sanctions it would be literally full steam ahead but apart from some mou`s signed back in may not much seems to be happening at all,maybe india doesnt want to risk angering her good american friends or her new jewish ones.
