India moves second 'BrahMos' supersonic cruise missile regiment towards the Pakistani border

Islamabad: With the start of a new massive military exercise along the Pakistani border, India on Sunday moved its second BrahMos supersonic cruise missile regiment in Rajasthan sector close to Sindh frontier.

The induction of an additional regiment coincided with a fresh test of an updated verion of BrahMos missile apparently to “validate the unit’s operationalisation.” An army spokesman on Sunday was quoted as saying, “In conformity and pursuit of operational and strategic surface to sruface missile capability development, the second BrahMos unit of Indian Army has been stationed somewhere in the western sector”.

BrahMos has the capability of attacking surface targets by flying as low as 10 meters above the ground. It can reach a speed of Mach 2.8 or close to three times of speed of sound. Meanwhile defence observers have confirmed to this scribe that troops belonging to U.S. 25th Infantry Division were already in India to take part in a joint exercise.

The sources added that more than 200 American soldiers and officials were already present in India along with most advanced military hardware.

Indian sources had already confirmed that around sixty troops from American special forces and an equal number from the Indian Army’s 3 Para (Special Forces) were gearing up to take part in another wargame.

Making a mountain out of a molehill? Brahmos is just a tactical cruise missile. Its not a nuclear capable ballistic missile.No different from long range artillery system. It could be easily moved during wartime. I don't get whats the fuss about this news; this is not even newsworthy.

It's a hard fact - Brahmos is not a respectable weapon as a CM. Some genius 10 years ago decided they can bypass the MTCR and buy an anti-ship missile and convert it into a full blow Cruise Missile and increase range and increase accuracy...

This has has not happened.

Well the Brahmos is under MTCR guidelines thats why it rage in 290 KM, moreover its a new mission jointly developed, India provided guidance & s/w russia provided h/w platform.

India's contribution in brahmos is far more then what Pak claims to be in JF-17 and said to be pakistan indigenous plane.

Hard fact - Its best Anti ship missile which has not match in world and no defense, one launched it bang on ship and destroy it.

Hard Fact:- no one in this world converted anti ship missile for land target use also, this is called development & innovations and differ its rent from copying


It is similar like a Karachi attacked with Indian costal missile boat which even Russian can't believed that indian use costal defensive missile boat to attack.
