What's new

India may transfer some Migs to Srilanka: Source

No you didn't. It was your media which claimed all those stuff of exporting AL Khalid's and JF-17 to Sri Lanka to fight the LTTE.
Don't pamper yourself.

Even the Srilankans admire us for helping them in the war of terror , Ask any Srilankan !!!

At least we do not hide crashes

Pakistan has never hide its any crash for your kind information.

.
Are these srilankan's crazy we were giving 10 F-7ps free with 8 JF-17s ... :hitwall::crazy:
Now they would have to wait for 10 years to get the tejas .... :enjoy:

Why would we allow our money to get into your pockets???? Lankans don't need to wait for 10 years... in 4-5 years we'll export them,, and SLAF doesn't need a foghter they don't face any Aired threat what they need is lots of patrol boats

Technically Yes, JF17 is still a prototype after 8 years of induction into active combat squadron :coffee:

:coffee: Hope this will stop your melodrama Mr.Think Tank !

"66 + prototypes" means 66 production models aircrafts that have been built PLUS the prototypes (PT-01 up to PT-06) .... It doen't mean that all 66 aircrafts are "prototypes" ... atleast learn to read before you go on posting something ... because even if you did read from wikipedia itself (as much of a bad source that it is) you would have found this huge heading titled "PROTOTYPES" .... followed up by "PRODUCTION VERSIONS"

Why are we all jumping here.. Let SLAF confirm it officially... I have said before and i am saying again.. SL navy will order 4-6 ships from India as its building a navy first. This blue water navy ambition has the blessings of USA and order from India implies India is backing it too. So SLAF practically has no free budget for next 4-5 years..

there is no blackmail, no arm twisting.. In 4-5 years SL AF may opt for JF17 or LCA or more Kfirs based on requirement, support and geo political relationships..

Till then we all are just trying to kill a potential customer with onslaught here in pdf...all people should have patience and see what and how it shapes out..

OT Mig 27 does help them tide over for 4-5 years surely so gift them at free of cost... This ensures SL navy requirements are met by our shipyards implying orders for export and growth for our shipping industry.
I too don't see this being all that likely for a number of reasons, primarily the fact that Sri Lanka's capital expenditure in its defence budget is almost negligable.

+ Sri Lanka will never have a blue water navy.

Indian trolls aren't really known for being smart..

75+ JFs have been produced .. Including the ones used for weapons testing a etc... But hey they are too dumb to understand simple things.. Can't blame them.

Jahil Indians that is 66 Jets and some Prototypes , Stop stalking the JF-17 and go help your Handicapped Tejas in flying . Atleast we have made 66+ jets what have you done ? still trying to find the faults in the TEJAS after so many years .....:disagree:

.
for the 20 aircrafts its enough.. what IAF wanted the HAL's to increase the capacity for the future 120+ orders... for which HAL's working on. Remember For Tejas HAL has a defferent assembly plant and MKI's orders would be finished by next year, the facility would only be used for Super sukoi program
The LCA's production line will have nothing to do with the MKI's production centre in Nasik that is tied up with MKI production until 2018-19 and will eventually begin switching over to FGFA production not to mention supporting the MKI Super upgrades and MLUs.

HAL is setting up an entirely seperate production line just for the LCA, for 2016 the capcity is 8/year, from 2017 onwards it should be 16/year as per HAL and IAF statements.

.
Yes - 5 SQDs of Prototypes.. :coffee:
Please go and update the status on Wikipedia before inducting a JF17 trainer jet and be a laughing stock.

Technically JF17 will remain a prototype until a Twin seat trainer is inducted.:p:

Stop stalking The JF-17 atleast we have made 66+ jets what have you guys done ?? You guys are still finding the faults in Tejas and Helping the poor Handicapped Tejas in Flying . Jealous Indians :disagree:

.
2 years ,,, i thought you were trying to prepare Tejas since 80s,,, I think I am too weak at maths ... lolz
The LCA project wasn't offically started until 1992/3. First prototype was flying 6-7 years later.

Now they would have to wait for 10 years to get the tejas .... :enjoy:
If the SLAF is to get the MK.1 they can start receiving them as soon as mid/late 2018 or early 2019 (by then the IAF's 20 MK.1 order will have been completed and work shifted over to the MK.1A). Just like the Rafale's production line, the LCA's can be ramped up to meet extra demand, if a firm export order is recieved then HAL can increase capacity to 16/year earlier than currently planned.

Frankly, I don't think they could get JF-17s any sooner- unless the PAF was willing to forgo some of their orders but even then PAC is churning out Thunders at a perplexingly low rate since the Thunder offcially entered service.

Next time offer more benefits and keep the deal confidential to block İndia threatening the customer to cancel the deal.
Also double check your gear to ensure no sabotage occurs for bahrain airshow since tejas would rival your fighter and they seem to use every opportunity in or out of the book.

Actually its the India, who can help Srilankan Airforce very much.

1. MIG-21 Bison -- 120 , MIG-21 UBG nos are relatively new airframe, and will be retire soon from IAF post 2018-2020. And HAL manufacture the spares, parts, engine could provide it. Infact India helped Vietnaam in modernisation and repair of her Mig-21.

2. Russia, have long stop the production of Mig-27, and its Engine, and now the spares of Mig-27 is the problems. Wondering, what would India do with the retired Mig-27, scrapped or give it to Srilanka for free, just retaining Mig-27UPG.

Haha, you think aircraft worth hundreds of millios of USD (in collectvie R&D) would go without a security team to a foreign land?

.
Do you think the MoD would be allowing HAL to saunter down to Bahrain for a 2-3 week holiday (in effect) if there wasn't certainty of acheiving FOC in the coming months? There is a reason HAL has chosen this year to go to the Sakir airshow.
maybe,,it's more about showing off our capability,,maybe it was MOD who wanted tejas to be thr in the first place,,,i dont know
FOC will be achieved in 2016 for sure, the Quartz crystal dome and IFR probe were delivered (late) in Q4 2015, the project team has been pushing to AoA to FOC requirements and when the 2 LCA return to Jamnaghar in a couple of weeks it will be firing the Derby and Python- basically all FOC parameters met/to be met shortly.
inko(IAF n dpsu both) danda milega to issi saal hoga,,warna
wud u believe if i say,,dpsu,s r still hopefull of IAF to relax requirements further for FOC :D,,so tht they can finish this project n move on to mk1a,,which IAF actually wants.

Indeed, transfering old/phased-out MiGs (21s or 27s) to the SLAF makes much more sense at this stage than the sale of the LCA. Within 3-5 years there are going to be hundreds of former IAF MiGs ready to be scrapped, put on roundabouts, made gate guardians, gifted to technology colleges etc so why not transfer to a freindly nation if they want them? The GoI set the precedent with the Mi-25s to Afghanistan.

Given that the DM and PM have both offically told HAL/ADA to buckle down on the LCA and get it into service- the DM actually said the first priority was getting the LCA into the IAF ASAP. I don't see the DM greenlighting such a request from HAL unless there was some firm assurances that the LCA was almost at FOC.

Remember, the DM has been reviewing the progress of the LCA project personally every single month.

Tejas cannot be sold to SL as engines are western and are restricted for SL ...
