Moody's regularly comment on countries based on changes in potential political/social outlook of a country. For Britain moody has been warning that UK triple A rating will be downgraded if UK leaves the EU or if the Scots were vote for independence. They have been commenting such on the basis of UKIP surge which forced the conservatives to offer an in/out referendum to be held at some near future. In the case of Scottish independence all the credit agencies have their views on the basis of polls.

The is the job of credit agencies to highlight issues. Those who are pointing out the religion of the analyst as if that would have any relevance is childish.

Yah Moody's Analytics articles/opinion pieces always project/consider worst case scenarios to give the "lower bound".

Everything almost always turns out to be better in reality.

The avid Modi supporters need not be disheartened/denigrating to others over this....and similarly the anti-Modi crowd have no 5 cent bucket to stand on shouting about this like Moody's is backing them either.

It is simply Moody's doing a "negative" brainstorming session via its Analytic section....they always do this for every major country. No one is interested in doing best case scenario projections, because that tends not to be the base level that you can then "build on"....rather you have to "take away" and agencies look bad when they have to do that.

firstly, i don't know how moody's makes money... i presume they have clients who are advised on daily basis, like stock brokers do.

now, whether or not this capitalist corporation is concerned about their direct and indirect clients' worries about continuing or investing in india, this only reflects that the post-bjp-victory poisoned and violent atmosphere in india is now significantly known outside of india, especially among indian establishment's favorite circles - the western hemisphere.

although the maniac western governments would have absolutely no problem in working with bjp, the usa government in particular will have to answer its citizens and ngo's about india.
