Obviously it is not just about one issue. It's about geopolitics in general.

As for your economic argument... China is Japan's number one trading partner, but it still doesn't help bilateral ties. So why would it help China-India relations?

Business can be separated from geopolitics if it becomes necessary. It just depends on how important the business ties are.

never said it help bilateral ties. are US and China best friend?

American companies dictates its policies towards china. hence no president yet has labelled china a currency manipulator. even though geithner himself said china was.

Japanese companies and its interests was the main stay for Japnese soft and what is consider a weak line towards china over the island row. If Japan didn't have majors interest in China, you think Japan would've look so weak like they did?

You are begin to see it now with Chinese companies like Huwei in India. India has tons of infrastucture works need to be done and will spend trillions in the coming decades... and lucky for the chinese Indians companies are more than willing to work with chinese companies. Indians companies were batting for china over the supplying India with communication optics this years despite the Indian gov't, media and majority of indians hesitation and outright hostile to chinese companies in those field.

Money talks, as more chinese companies go to india it too will formulate china relation with india
