India May Buy Over $7Bln's Worth of Arms From Russia During Modi's Visit

Disband the PA because pakistanis are becoming shorter due to malnutrition. .

Cousin marriages, malnutrition have led to height decrease, reveals Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.

The average height of Pakistanis has fallen four inches over the last 50 years due to malnourishment and food deficiency.

Now I understand why Pakistani says we will fight India for 1000 years ...

As per this rate they will disappear in approx 900 years, with an average height of 6 ft and 4 inch reduction every 50 years :yahoo:

We spend 3% to mount an effective defense. Considering we have Afghanistan in mess on one side and a bloated with hate Modi led government of India on the other 3% is still a tiny amount in my opinion.

Opinion about poverty rate is already given by Nilgiri.

Then why do you have a problem with India spending a mere 1.8% of its GDP in defense, despite facing two nuclear armed neighbours ?

Good news。

India should definitely spend more on Russian weapons。

The more,the better。

Here we go. When did you "control" the world's 30% GDP? Reading too much from Modi's nationalist party's magazines and books lately?? :o:o_O

Second, you should protect yourself, I don't think I ever implied in my post that you should be weak and anyone should come take over your country. But the point was, by spending $ 10 billion in weapons, or $ 15 billion, the protection STILL comes. The $ 5 billion (just making up an example) spend on the public, actually will produce more taxes and a better living style for millions of families, which then allows you to THEN go spend the extra $ 5 billion on weapons later. AFTER you have improved millions of people's lifestyle.

You are a nuclear country, I don't think anyone is stupid enough to get into a war with you, or threaten you. Your main enemies are Pakistan and China (also nuke states), so any one of you, or all of you can spend billions more, but you can't fight each other as the results will be destruction for all (MAD). So....back to my question, now that I've explained how protected you are, it doesn't weaken you if 20-30% of the many billions, went towards human development, so 600 million people, who don't have proper bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen, can actuality have the basic necessities!!

first we will make our defence strong and then concentrate on public, besides our defence spending is very less .What is the big fuss?

Regarding your question when did India control 30% of World GDP.
Development Centre Studies: The World Economy : A Millennial Perspective - OECD

READ ANGUS MADDISON REPORT ON
The World Economy : A Millennial Perspective
It clearly states both India and China controlled half of worlds GDP with India being the top most of the time around 30%

For all we care you spend 10%. I was merely presenting facts not fantasies like your Indian friend.

This was the figure from the old more inaccurate survey (URP method).

The new survey method (MMRP) reported 12.4% (in 2011) as vetted by the World Bank itself:

So in 4 years time (its 2015 almost 2016 now)...the % would have definitely dropped below 10% by now.

The world bank just hasnt updated to the main site as this method will have to be employed worldwide to be compared from country to country (to ensure apples to apples). They are even willing to take a data break for it because it is much better than the URP method (if you read the report fully).
Well surely that will drop poverty rate across the board for all countries. From what i can see poverty data for Pakistan is not available since 2011 so cant comment on it.

forget poverty data when was the last time you had national census in Pakistan ?

This again, really?

The second time in 24 hours I am having to post this:

1) India's defence budget as a proportion of GDP is 1.78% as compared to Pakista's that is 3-4%
2) Of the national budget the defence budget occupies but 10-13%*, of Pakistan's national budget the military consumes >25% of your national budget
3) India spends FAR more (both in real terms and as a percentage of its GDP) on healthcare, education and poverty alieviation. India and China are the ONLY two nations to have met their UN MDGs on poverty reduction- in the same time poverty in Pakistan has INCREASED. Every year India is pulling >10,000,000 people out of poverty.
4) Pakistan is the only nation I can think of who has seen an increase in illiteracy as its GDP has grown.

*as @gslv mk3 has pointed out to me, India's defense budget is only 6.5% of the combined central-state budget expenditure.

These aren't extraordinary defence purchases but contained within the defence budget which is only 1.78% of GDP, are you asking India to spend even less than 1.78% on defence? What would be acceptable to you? 0.1%??

+ The 600 million figure is totally absurd, the poverty in India is unaccetpably hugh but it is not that hugh and concrete steps are bing taken to reduce it year in year out.

Nope, even your overlords from the master race are importing the same system from Russia.

Copied and save in Word file will use it whenever necessary. Thank you :D

It depends. Some countries may not see drops as big as those in India, some may see even more. Lets wait for next years world bank analysis.

Keep buying insane amounts of weapons. Who cares about the over 600 MILLION people who don't have proper bathrooms to use, and beds to sleep on. While the Indian Government stacks up weapons in billions from all over.

It never makes any sense to me, buying weapons is fine, but the deals signed this years, if you minus two of them, would've provided close to $ 8 - 10 billion for public welfare!! And $ 8-10 billion can help millions of poor people!
I wonder which country makes to failed state list every year without a miss

Sir you still not answered me back as when was the last national census was done in Pakistan

Our country is fighting an insurgency and you want a fuuccking census? Secondly next census is due next year as condition has improved now.

Secondly typical Pakistan carries out census every 10 or so years. Last one was recorded in 1998 and should have been done by 2010 but wasnt carried out due to security situation.
Pakistan to hold population census in March 2016, with military support - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

when elections can be held why not census and without a proper census all development programs are done on guesswork but not at all surprising

Don't pull figures out of thin air...

That didnt come of the air; it just came out of some place else..... just ask @Orangzaib mian where!! :)

Do a comparisons between the "beggars" in India and the US???? The beggars you see in the US, are primarily people who don't to work and are on drugs. The beggars and homeless and poor in India (over 600 million people), aren't just the druggies or the ones who don't want to work........these are actual FAMILIES who are NOT getting a decent life style. Instead many billions go towards weapons purchases every years.

Hey @Orangzaib mian, where did you pull that "yarn" outta???
