I think there is a proposed version of regional transport aircraft of MTA.

Saras is also a good platform to begin with . . if and only if these lazy @ss can utilize that experience on a broader platform.

I think there is a proposed version of regional transport aircraft of MTA.

They might want to look in to it but given how we go about the process of producing our gear it would be a rather long time before the IAF's demands are met and the production line can turn towards the civilian variant. Otherwise the MTA has a turboprop derivative too for some reason.

The first prototype will be ready at about the same time that India will put a man in space. Somewhere around 2020-2022. Not bad IMO.
