Rafale specifications are pretty known and block 3 although still in progress but we know it will hopefully be equipped with an AESA radar, HMD, maybe even PL-15 but it will always somewhat limited interms of its small space to incorporate major equipment.

Different performance levels. Air to Air they may be matched evenly given proper C3I but air to ground the Rafale is just a superior platform.

The Rafale does have a superior weapons package with the meteor, MICA and ASM hammer.

In only a few years the IAF can inducted hundreds of new planes; F-16 or Gripen, Rafales, Tejas, and more Su-30 or Mig-29s. They also plan to refurbish their Jaguars.

Parity can never be reached. They simply are a larger country with more resources. That is a given. They also have the support of the US and the West combined. These countries are selling their high tech hardware like hot cakes to India. Pakistan could not have done much either way. This was always going to be the outcome.

The question now is what options does Pakistan have at its disposal. One thing is 100% certain. We are going to face India in the foreseeable future.

The options from a supplier point of view are limited, but the one supplier that Pakistan has at its disposal has absolutely everything on offer.

Our navy deserves absolute top priority. This is where we lack considerably. The navy desperately requires an Air Force wing with adequate fighter resources. The subs on order are going to address the imbalance in the coming years. We are getting more frigates each year which is a very positive sign. Pak Navy needs a serious upgrade in a few departments to be able thwart any Indian misadventure. The navy is already doing a fantastic job at the moment and with more and better resources at disposal the effectiveness is going increase by a quantum leap.

Let’s hope the Pak economy finally takes off. Without a healthy economy all of the above cannot be sustainable. Pakistan has its work cut out. After a very long and dark few decades Pakistan finally has some sane leadership willing to put Pakistan first. This is a blessing in itself. Who could have even thought about putting Pakistan first when we had leaders like Mr. 10% and Modi’s friend Nawazoo. It was a constant fight for survival. We need to develop our Cyber Forces. We need better EW capabilities. we need to develop a constructive democratic system and We need a robust and not just stable economy so we can sustain foreign pressure. We need to inspire our people through effective pilot programs to speed up real human development programs like real verifiable literacy. These are areas where our smaller size doesn't matter as much, and where we can make a real difference.

When they start retiring them, They could secure a contract to upgrade them and sell them onwards to Pakistan at friendship prices, but for now the Turks still need their F-16s. They still haven't got their F-35s yet.
