India important nation, can keep nuke weapon: Dalai Lama

I met Tibetans in a Nightclub in China, who were there for a trip in the Mainland,They were modern, but when i told them i was from India they were very happy and asked me all about Dalai Lama and Tibetans in India.
So, one two Tibetans cannot change the perception,Go to Dharamshala to know about him yourself.
So Buddhist Theocracy is bad? As far as i know they don't go around killing people of other religions because they aren't Buddhist. So in my book they are quite good.
Buddhist theocracy is as dangerous as any form of theocracy. Religous men in power are maniacs because they see the world with an outdated mind so any chance of progress will never happen. If you really follow Buddhist philosophy you shoild not think about theocracy for once. Buddhism goes directly against ego and the sense of ownership. I have only met one Tibetan in my entire life so I don't know for sure what they really feel about China and Dalai Lama but i think Tibet is better off as a part of China. It was even China that introduced Buddhism for Tibet and Tibet has always remained as a part of China.

You are politically right against China when it comes to Tibet, i understand they have a lot of Infrastructure and investment in your Nation.Tibet was not part of China..I think even you know that truth.I don't want to get into specifics and trolling by Chinese posters.
How many Buddhist Dalai Lamas mass murdered people in history? that you deduced Buddhist Theocracy is dangerous as other theocracies?

China important nation, can keep Tibet: Dalai Lama (future statement)

In 1955, the Dalai Lama returned to Lhasa wrote a poem, "Ode to Chairman Mao", in this praise of Chairman Mao Zedong in which he likened the sun, he was a protecting Tibetan people's mother, overcome imperialism albatross, praise Mao liberated shackles, indicating the path of peace, wish the great leader of the world like the torch shine forever.

Recently,In June 2012,Dalai Lama told the Andrew Marr Show on BBC: "He (Chairman Mao) appears to me as a father and he himself considered me as a son. (We had) very good relations.

The more Buddhist thing to say would have been no country should have nukes, but heck I am no Buddhist so what do I know.

Always thought mainstream Buddhists were peace loving people. After Burma and now this...... I think I better update my assumptions.

Also Lankan Buddhists have been attacking Muslims lately and we all know what they did to the Hindu Tamils.

I thought as per India and Dalai lama's western friends religion should not be mixed with politics. So did they suddenly have a change of heart?

It's not about China and I am trying to be unbiased. Think about it in this way. What's the meaning of being a monk? Distancing one self from all materialist matters which includes not indulging in politics and authority. That makes Dalai Lama looks like a hypocrite.

Sri Lanka didn't have a religious war. It was an ethnic war. And do you really complain about any form of persecution of Muslims? When Bamian Buddhas were blown up, did anything happen to one Muslim living in a Buddhist-majority country? In Sri Lanka alone 2000 years old hisotircal sites were vandalised by Muslims and that was the start of anti-Muslim sentiments within the society. Then compare that with the reaction towards Charlie Hebdo, Satanic Verses, Danish Cartoons.

Does that also include letting a foreign country take everything of yours and plunder your culture?

Yes. If he wants to fight, he should renounce of his monkhood.

the good Lama at it again, his third infraction in recent times if I remember well. He said something about the Crimea situation earlier and then something else more recently.

He should refrain from making any political statements, or not answer when asked about politics etc, his 'homeland' is a lost cause, nobody cares about Tibet, 0 chance for independence.

He should chill in his ashram and meditate and talk about how to be at peace etc when he travels out, which he does a lot, not comment on nasty worldly shit like wars and nukes.. leave that bit to the mullahs :P

great guy overall though, probably shoots off the cuff when ambushed by reporters, but he means well.

He would have been better off not making political statements
