Believe it or not , but this is quite unprofessional coming from the head of a military , these type of statements are usually attributed to tribal warlord and militia commanders . I cant think of any reason , why he released it like that in a press conference , instead of handing it over to the media wing of the IA if he so desired to reveal and gloat about " tit and tat " that continues on the Line of Control , except the media frenzy , sensationalism and maybe the attention that comes with it . Otherwise , this is really surprising to say the least even .

He's not out there broadcasting it. This annual press conference is one of the very few media interactions the COAS has with the media- on the eve of Army Day. He was asked a direct question he answered it. He wasn't gloating but was responding to the accusation his establisment was doing nothing which understandably he wanted to refute.

He's out there telling something which he shouldn't tell or looks good saying being the head of a military . He's a professional and his country isn't in a state of war to speak like that or get emotional answering a question , the sensationalist media will keep bugging you all day , that is their job . If he wanted to tell it , the best way would have been to instruct the media wing of the military to release it to the public . Despite the fact that the same information has been released by multiple sources in Pakistan before , I do not really know what he was bragging about or needed to tell desperately , such stuff is common to tribal militias or warlords , the organized military professionals have to maintain their distinction . This is what I am saying .
