India fully prepared in event of a war: Antony

Diplomatic sabre rattling is how I describe it. After all we do need bargaining chips in a negotiation, don't we?

That logic could be applied to any territorial claim in the world.

Why assume things without evidence?

The bottom line is that both sides are making a claim, and this is a significant territorial dispute.

Owning Arunachal is a challenge to China of course.

What the CCP doesn't tell its people is why it doesn't try and capture Arunachal.

There's a very weird fact behind that.

The fact is, that, in a queer manner, all the toughest terrain in that region lies on the Indian side of the border.

Once you enter the Indian side, you have to hold on to you position in that tough terrain.

...and it is a hell of a task to support a hostile force in such a tough terrain.

This is the same reason why PLA couldn't hold on to its captured areas in 1962 and decided to run back home when they were faced with the prospect of a full fledged Indian retaliation.

Kashmir we do share part of and about Siachin Glacier, were Indian soldiers buried by snow there just a few days ago?

actually. They were pakistani soldiers.

The above mentioned are disputed territories, Tibet is not.

How did you miss the first two lines of the paragraph, and only read the third sentence. :cheesy:

Here, I'll highlight it for you:

We have all we want. We are a status quo or a Defensive power. We do not seek Tibet that we will go and attack China.

If India has all it wants, then why does India claim Chinese and Pakistani land?

Territorial disputes are a big factor when it comes to war.

You encroached the land saying "nobody lived there so we took it" despite the fact that soldiers left the area only to show friendliness and non-violence towards each other. This is called backstabbing that you lot are excellent at. East Ladakh still is our territory and you're just a passing phase.

India fully prepared in event of a war: Antony

Anthony is not allowed to say anything else. If he did, Sonia Gandhi would kill him. The pathetic joker..

Only knows how to talk (that too not properly) and got the position of DM just because he's a YES man. Pitiful situation for MOD and for our country.

We may hold those territories, but we don't have UN consent or members with whom those territories

HBS point was that India is comfortable with status quo, she doesn't see a need to attack China and take over Aksai Chin, or attack Pakistan and take over Gilgit Baltistan or Azad Kashmir. No point in doing so.

Like HBS said these bargaining chips will help in negotiation of recognition of the territories respectively under each of party's control.

Territorial disputes are a big factor when it comes to war.

yes they are

I loved that leaked letter :) now parliamentary committee on defence is meeting all 3 chiefs for the first time in Indian history. They used to meet Dy. chiefs before. This letter bomb is going to cut short most of defence deals by minimum 2/3 years :)

This army chief have brought the govt on knees ;)
These politicians dont understand until they are not exposed

No, it was the Indians who said that stupid Hindi phrase "Hindi Chini bhai bhai" (which was never said in Chinese).

Then they proceeded to backstab us by hosting our largest separatist group in 1959, and as if that wasn't enough, they then conducted the Forward Policy against us in 1962.

Both of these events happened BEFORE the Sino-Indian War. So unless you have a time machine, it was you who backstabbed us.

So what? We're just supposed to "take your word for it", despite what happened the last time you pretended to be our friend?

That was not the case, Aksai Chin was already under Chinese occupation, each time Indian diplomats raised this issue, the Chinese diplomats said they would resolve it.

Prove it that there was terrorist activities that happened before our war against China. I dare you to prove it via neutral sources. The only time SFF was formed was during the war as a means to bolster supplies.

Forward Policy was enacted only AFTER your road building on our side started and Mao's aggressive plans took shape.

So what? We're just supposed to "take your word for it", despite what happened the last time you pretended to be our friend?

Well the ball rolls both ways. Do you seriously think that we or anyone in the region (other than your two lackeys) would buy your "peaceful rise"? Give me a break.

Buddy, I know what happened there, but this was the official escapist statement that the Reds issued to justify their actions at least on public forums.

What really happened there of course we know. :)

Prove it that there was terrorist activities that happened before our war against China.

What terrorist activities?

There was a Tibetan separatist uprising in 1959 against the Chinese government. Their violent revolution failed, and these separatists were then harbored by India.

This was despite India claiming "Hindi Chini bhai bhai", which the Chinese side never said.

So basically, you backstabbed us, and you still lost the war.

Well the ball rolls both ways. Do you seriously think that we or anyone in the region (other than your two lackeys) would buy your "peaceful rise"? Give me a break.

You don't buy our "peaceful rise".... we don't buy your "India is peaceful" BS.

And we are probably both right. :D

Truth is India genuinely believed China as a friend, Indian diplomatic support to China during Korea war can vindicate that.

Of course not a friend to whom we were going to compromise on our interests.

Friendship is mutually at the end of the day.
