India exposed

It has been some time that conscientious voices in India have been becoming rather strident, questioning the logic of their country’s stand that Kashmir is its integral part. The latest one is the statement of the Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Wednesday that it has yet to be decided whether Kashmir is a part of India or not. That the right wing extremist party BJB was quick to call for a treason case against him shows how much vulnerable the Indian political circles are to the criticism from someone from amidst their own ranks.

Bharat has now crossed all limits in suppressing the Kashmiris. And it is only natural for the decades-long bloodshed to provoke sensitive people into taking a stand against this tyranny. For New Delhi, voices like Congress Minister Sham Lal Sharma who bluntly called for ‘Azadi’ for Kashmiris or even Omer Abdullah’s statement that Kashmir never merged with India and was an international dispute are nothing less than heresy. But of course the biggest worry for the Indian establishment is Booker Prize winner Arundhati Roy who has effectively busted the myth of atoot ang. The Indian government is seriously worried about her writings and speeches that make it to the Western mainstream media which rarely paints a true picture of the dreadful chaos in the valley. In a move that should expose the Indian intolerant mindset, she was booked under sedition charges for her utterances on Kashmir. That stern view is taken of anyone who dares to wash India’s dirty linen in public is shameful, to say the least. Such voices must push the Congress government into honouring Nehru’s commitments made to the UN to ensure a plebiscite in Kashmir. The clouds of a nuclear war have been hovering over South Asia for quite some time now. Though it is clear that they now pose an existential threat to one of the biggest population masses in the world, nothing is being done to address this core issue between India and Pakistan.

Under the circumstances, the world community must come forward, in seriously urging India to give up its vicious grip on the valley. Recurring cries like that of the Samajwadi Party about India’s unjust occupation have blown the lid off the democracy the country claims itself to be. The fact that people from within the country are lashing out against their state’s atrocious rule over a hapless people is a damning indictment of India’s Kashmir policy. The bottom line is that there can be no durable peace between the two nuclear armed neighbours unless the conflict is resolved in line with the wishes of the people.

Dear i meet some nepali labourers today who are working in an airline catering company..and when few political statements came up..they had really "sweet" words for India..all i can say now...is that India is playing "imperial" games of exploitation in small south Asian countries hence Pakistan is an eyesore to them as it gives the ideological vision for all countries around india..the aspirations of true freedom..agree we may not be perfect but many are still taking us as an example.

.
haha. Thanks for making me laugh.

WHat is so funny here...they were bunch of Nepali's reading UrduNews and abusing India for its political role..as simple as that..next time i will take written statements signed and sealed to post here as evidence.

For my part :
A few months back I was waiting for a pickup with my American friends here in LA. I was stopped and checked by a group of cops. I was let go after interrogating. My American friend asked "why did they think you are from Pakistan?".

Bottom Line:
I think you should worry too much about opinion Nepalis have about India after reading URDU NEWS.

.
elected leaders can say whatever they want in india.... well guess it is time that a few separatists stood for election instead of being cowards...

I was laughing Pakistan being used as a shining example of freedom.

Talking about interference in other countries, I guess we should ask the Afghans what they think about terms like strategic depth.

Did they also say that they wished they had Pakistan as a neighbour instead?

How do you debate this crap. I mean I can post one sided, biased, and taken out of context articles. Try posting from articales who can make logical arguments to prove thier points. Nothing wrong with bashing India, as long as its fair and based on facts, proper arguments and from informed author. Please, to everymember, dont post craps like these.:disagree:

Is this how you guys turn a thread, revealing your bitter identity into a joke and then force it to be deleted?
What i feel is, the indian Government is the same as US government. Both are trying to rise, but also are making others fall. in other words, the governments are "Stomping on others, to get to the top".
The competetion is unfair and unhealthy.

People like it or not most of the smaller nations of south asia look india with suspicion even if we forget pakistan for a while. These neighbours have lot of disputes with india be it river water sharing, territorial disputes etc. There has been long history of india meddling in internal issues of these countries.May be coz GOI considers south asia as its sphere of influence.
