Tell me you just referred to Wiki. Bhopal Shatabdi's MPS is 150 Kmph. Though it can go more. The trains engineer aren't given the privilege to cross the MPS. MPS = Maximum Permitted Speed. Likewise, the other Shatabdis and Durontos do have a MPS of 120 - 130 Kmph, and express trains like, Brindavan Express, Coromandel Express have a MPS of 110 Kmph. Passengers trains in some of them have the privilege to go 110 kmph.
In India,we have to impose speed limits.Indian Railway has aged a lot.neither these lines are ideal for high speed rails, nor it is suitable as these trains travels through thick population habitats.any major rail accident could perish hundreds,if not thousands.we don't have space to implement Transrapid or any such fancy projects.most of the time,we've to implement these projects either underground,or over or around the existing projects.so,safety matters.
plus, with high speed, comes top fare.I wonder what is the fare rate of any Chinese High Speed Rail??can you compare it with the existing Indian railway fare chart for Local trains I gave to you??
