NEW DELHI: Keen to send the right signals to China in the diplomatic build-up to its membership bid at the Nuclear Suppliers Group, India has relaxed key security conditions for the northern neighbour in recent months indicating that there's a good chance Beijing could drop off India's blacklist.

Over the past month, most visa categories for Chinese nationals have been removed from the Prior Referral Category (PRC) list. This is a sort of a blacklist of about half-a-dozen countries ..

good decision.

but NSG does nt add anything except an official labeling as nuclear state.

Who cares about visas? Chinese tourists are the biggest source of tourism spending in the world, that's a benefit for India, not for China:

The Modi regime is keen to ease the visa process for Chinese visitors.

Now this part is interesting:

Further, fast-track clearances have been put in place for two Chinese industrial parks that are likely to come up in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

And more reactor deals please. Forget the visa BS, that is only a benefit to India's tourism income, doesn't help China.

No my friend. Certainly it helps China. Geographically it is most important factor for Sea lane crews of China. You will understand its importance if you're a sailor.

Soft diplomacy will be the only solution .... sensible approach and sensibilities needed on both sides and ramping up of trade ties ...
rest will take care of itself

what is the benefit really, we are already enjoying all the benefits of NSG, so why give any freebies to china.

Would China let India enter NSG and pile up nukes which may well be used against it? Naa. Come on.

If that had been their assumption they wouldn't have given a nod to the NSG waiver for India either. Why do u guys keep forgetting that India is perhaps the only nation on earth which is an NSG member without being one, YET!!

This remains one of the biggest mysteries ever, how did American manage to silence China on NSG waiver, resulting in China and Pakistan national security put at even more risk.

I think the whole NSG waiver was a cunning well schemed gambit by the Americans for which the Chinese fell for.

You do understand with the waiver we are already doing so ? With full fledged NSG membership we just get legitimacy, nothing changes in our nuclear programme ,besides China can oppose it ,it will just push India into SCS with US & will create unnecessary tensions.
