Pretty ugly compared to the 12,000HP Prima-2s for the EDFC

But as long as it gets the job done it doesn't matter about looks.

Prima facie it looks Toshiba has derived this overall design from South African Class 19E and Class 15E locomotives operated by TransNet (Formerly Spoornet).

Class 15E

Class 19E (Dual Voltage)

These locos haul some of the longest and heaviest freight hauled by Electric traction.

So yes, till the locos are pulling their load, looks would be a secondary consideration!
