India Developing, but still a long way to go

grouw up..india and her growth story is all about her middle class like I and others on this forum...elite are a very small community...

The elites loot while giving false visions of hope to the middle class.

I would be more interested in seeing affordable housing for the working class. Reliable supply of clean drinking water, decent public transit.

Ahmedabad's BRTS project is one of the genuinely beneficial schemes.

Places made for the hangout of elites is no scale to measure india's development.If i ever say india is developing then i see at the bottom of pyramid not the top.

Until all the slums in the major cities of India are replaced, none of them will ever look world class.

Dwarka, A New Middle Class Colony on the Periphery of South-Eastern Delhi;
Incidentally, Property Prices Have Escalated To The Extent That This Middle Class Colony Turned Into An Upper Middle Class Colony

India's gift to the world is it's largest middle class, some 300-500 million strong.
These are subjective terms, to me a TV, moped, scooter, motorcycle and cell-phone and home (flat or house) owner is middle class. These are enabling, money-making tech. marvels.

This was NOT the made-in-india cars, SUV's or 'phoren' travel set. That's recent, specially cars.
Given property prices, India was and remains the country with the largest home ownership in the world, cars and the above 'necessities' are peanuts, specially price wise. Mass manufacturing must have taken off. China is China, meanwhile the world's largest factories of consumer and industrial goods are 100 % Indian. MNC's Global factories in India have only recently caught up to India's manufacturing behemoths. For eg. Tata medium and mini truck, again Tata's Voltas brand air-conditioner plant, Bajaj motor, BEML Heavy, Maruti-Suzuki small car, TVS mopeds, Enfield motorcycles, ATlas Cycles, Sumeet Mixer-Grinders, Relaxo Chappal's, Arvind Denim, Hyundai Motors or Mahindar Tractor factories etc.

Many factories, like car parts, run on double-triple shifts because of accidental exports boost.

A middle class colony ?

Yes a middle class colony where a 3 bedroom apartment costs 1.75 crores. I sold one 2 months back which I purchased for 53 lakhs 5 years back.

Delhi's first automated parking system - YouTube

The multi-level parking area is fully automated with car lifts, pallets and computerised control systems that will be operational 24X7. Up to 824 vehicles can be accommodated in the parking lot. To use the parking one needs to buy a 'car park card, drive inside and leave the car at the basement, from here the car is automatically taken for parking to the parking area. The registration number is scanned at the parking window and the information is recorded from the camera to the operating system. The driver gets a smart card which can be used to get the vehicle back.

The automated parking system has the best security system and car scanning technologies with improved security and safety for parking of the vehicles in minimum space. Built by New Delhi Municipal Council and DLF, this automated parking will charge people Rs 10 for the first two hours and then Rs 10 for each following hour up to a maximum of Rs 40 per day. Cars can be parked from 2nd to 8th floor while the ground and first floors will have retail outlets and restaurants, a release from the NDMC said.
