So basically, most Indian cities are getting metros now?

there are metros under cons in atleast 8-9 cities of India, with 4 most almost ready to start work. These are the major cities with greatest population.

Then after that 10-12 more cities are in advanced stages of metro approvals. Metro rail has become a lifeline for political parties. They are dying to get them as soon as possibe in every city. If they build it then will be reelected. Morever the projects are self sustaining and genereate profits with time. Govt of India and state govt are more than keep to build these metros.

Rolling stock is being manufactured by beml and bombardier till now with alstom soon opeing up their plant.
chinas chr is also interested in building rolling stock in India. India is on the right track in metro development. With expected over 1200km of metros by 2022.
