What's new

India controlled by 'fascist, male chauvinist' RSS, says Rahul Gandhi

Kanhaiya Kumar who has been recommended by one FM in a previous post too is a smooth talker. His only forte has been talking till now. Zero experience of any ground work.

Yes, I was that member. Kanhaiya is a great talker but also he has been going around the country doing speeches to organize people. That is one way how movements form.

This is a speech by him in Nanded ( Maharashtra ). Even if you skip some parts you will find the it generally sensible. @-=virus=-, watch from 38:19 mins about Reservation.

Kanhaiya is a great talker
I find Kanhaiya a good orator and appears to make a lot of sense in his speeches. The problem starts right there. A lot of glib talking politicians start filling their pockets when they came in power. Hence making sense in speeches may not be the only criteria. Counter argument to my statement would be - how else a person would show his/her intent? Yes I agree and can’t have a preconceived notion that he would also be corrupt if he gets into power. So he gets the benefit here.

Seeing the environment right now, Kanhaiya doesn’t seem to be going anywhere to me. Unless he changes track and joins some other party. This is because communists have dug their own grave by following policies that are not even followed in communist countries. This guy may get a small fan following but would not to be able to get into position to make any real impact. For that a bigger base is required. One advantage with him is that he is young. So he has time on his side.

I am for anyone who does good for the nation.

No gender equality, no caste equality, no future for India

Lol...No religious equality, no cultural equality, no free thinking, no freedom of expression or speech.....No future for China

Other orators like Nasser and Gaddafi did not quite get corrupted.

Yes indeed.

This is because communists have dug their own grave by following policies that are not even followed in communist countries.

Which policies ?

Maybe this is connected. I had approached the state secretary for my state of one of the public communist groups and he told me that his group wants to achieve socialist governance in India by going within the "Socialist" declaration in the preamble to the Constitution.

This guy may get a small fan following but would not to be able to get into position to make any real impact. For that a bigger base is required. One advantage with him is that he is young. So he has time on his side.

Yes, he has that advantage.

And that umbrella formation of Left, Left of Center and Centrist groups in India called the UPA should be rejuvenated and widened with the Left taking primary prominence.

I don’t want to go in too many details.

But look at what happened in West Bengal. They ruled the state for decades. In the end population threw them out due to there regressive anti industry outlook. No body could do a business there while Russia and China were racing into the game. These blokes need to be smart and be ready to adapt. If they don’t and keep holding on to some old theory then they don’t have a future. They have mostly reduced in every election in last decade or so.
I hope they wake up and form a strong opposition. Otherwise it is Modi all the way.

Future is already here for China you indian rapist

Are you saying PLA soldiers got raped in Galwan?

It was just dating buddy, got a bit rough, thats all.

They can make all the speeches they want but I really don't think there is any appetite for communism in India among the people. Modi's ratings are still sky high, and the BJP continuing to grow across the country. There is no credible opposition either, and pappu ghandy continues to further dig his own paty's grave deeper and deeper. Don't think we've ever seen a worse "leader" of the opposition.

I've said it before, just in case you missed it.. India is in for the long haul with the BJP.. minimum 4 terms at the centre, we're only in the second year of term 2 for now. Remains to be seen whether or not it'll be Modi or someone else, but they'll rule for a good long while.

I agree that the communists in WB did the wrong thing by not industrializing, computerizing, robotizing and general automationing the work sectors. The WB communists should have looked at the USSR which was a heavily industrialized country. Industrialize but with due concern for the natural ecosystem. The USSR brought computer teaching to 80s Afghanistan too. Perhaps like Afghanistan, Communist-governed WB could have sent a cosmonaut to a USSR space station.

If they don’t and keep holding on to some old theory then they don’t have a future.

That old theory holds true for the now and for the future. Below is the Google result for "Communism" :
Communism is a philosophical, social, political and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money and the state.
This is one understanding of Communism but how can such a harmonizing, humane, intellectual, scientific and marvelous idea be ever out of date ?

Various countries experimented with communism / socialism to various degrees with varied successes. For example, "Absence of the State" i.e. people ruling directly was implemented in Libya through the Third Universal Theory aka Jamahiriya theory. That theory works as given in this page and some description of it working in practice is presented in this thread's OP. The late Hugo Chavez learnt from the Libyan experiment and adapted it for Venezuela. Elon Musk too speaks for Direct Democracy ( people ruling themselves, directly ) as the political arrangement for near-future Mars colonies. And in this thread I have proposed a new economic system that is grounded in Communism. A system where there are no rich and poor but every person allowed to fulfill their material desires.

They can make all the speeches they want but I really don't think there is any appetite for communism in India among the people.

It is a tragedy that a lot of the Indian middle class will listen to Kanhaiya's speech that describes the disparity and injustice of India's socio-economic order but these "educated" people are not moved by it, not inspired to organize themselves and remove these wrong things. They instead prefer to do inane things like follow Modi's orders to "Thaali bajao, Corona bhagao" like this woman ( turn on the volume button ).

It is same Indian population that stood up against the British rule and Indira Gandhi for atrocities during the Emergency rule. The same population brought Kejriwal from nowhere to Chief Ministership. Few speeches here and there wouldn’t work for Khanaiya. Remember Kejriwal movement? Him and his parties have a template available to follow. But that would need some hard work and sweating. My take is that the high office holders in Communist parties have enough to sustain their own cushy livelihood. I don’t see them doing anything.

These are not the basic values I was talking about. These are obviously timeless and would remain relevant always. I was talking about communist belief against capitalism and endeavour for absolute opposite of that. Look at China today. Indian parties were for absolute communism kind of practice. That too was half baked since there is nothing like democracy in that ideology.

I am for strong opposition to ensure some check on the ruling party which is the BJP. This is because the proverb about absolute power corrupts........

With the current setup of UPA and people like Rahul, I don’t see any credible opposition to BJP.

I don’t have anything against them if they ensure development of the country. Just that there should be other options too and for reason stated above, I wish we had a strong opposition.

There need not be any party system at all. Neither one party, two party or multi-party. And no drama, demagoguery and money-spending towards having five-yearly elections. Tell me, in a two party system for example, one party wins and the self-appointed leaders of that party will implement the party policies for the next five years. If the losing party had good ideas it won't be able to implement them until they again try after five years. Even then there is no guarantee that its vote share will get it into power. Every five years there is a unnecessary quarrel for votes. Take USA which is mostly a two-party system. A two party dictatorship. There is no real difference between the two. Each of these two parties' governments when in power don't attempt to remove real human issues like homelessness and lack of affordable healthcare and instead spend that money and other resources - hundreds of billions of dollars - each year on maintaining a war-mongering military. The funny thing is that in 2011 USA, which doesn't have free and universal healthcare, invaded Libya which had free and universal healthcare and free housing. And True Democracy.

All in all, citizens in every country should be enabled to govern themselves directly and under the guidance of progressive socialism. This is real democracy, true democracy. This was how it was in Libya until 2011 and is in Venezuela now. Please read post# 55 again.

It is same Indian population that stood up against the British rule

More complicated than that. Some of that population participated in employment with the British and did tragic deeds like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Many from that same population discriminated against the Dalits which led to Dalit leader Ambedkar to renounce Hinduism and adopt Buddhism along with 365,000 of his followers.

The same population brought Kejriwal from nowhere to Chief Ministership.

I am sure that some, or a lot, of that same population abandoned Kejriwal and voted for the BJP. Fickle minded this population was. That is why the political system should be replaced with Direct Democracy that is guided by Socialism, or better, Communism.

My take is that the high office holders in Communist parties have enough to sustain their own cushy livelihood. I don’t see them doing anything.

If you watch clips from Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka you will see the red communist flags.

One communist leader from WB, Hannan Mollah, has been for years been leading a farmers collective called All India Kisan Sabha and has been very visible in the Delhi protests.

These are not the basic values I was talking about. These are obviously timeless and would remain relevant always.

Of course.

I was talking about communist belief against capitalism and endeavour for absolute opposite of that.

India is an extremely capitalist society. Capitalism also introduces unnecessary competition. Hence very avoidable tragedies like farmer suicides, student suicides, honor killings, most murders, most violence etc.

Communism seeks to remove social and economic disparity and unnecessary competition.

Look at China today.

Because of China deviating from Communism there are existences like extremely rich Chinese and then there are the poor Chinese who cannot afford healthcare in China and thus come to India to avail of cheaper ( for them ) the Indian medical tourism industry.

Indian parties were for absolute communism kind of practice.

I think I have already informed you that some years ago I met two leaders of two different communist parties. I will met them again and present to them my suggestions, including my economic system proposal and making prominent the Libyan political system.

That too was half baked since there is nothing like democracy in that ideology.

True Democracy i.e. the "Withering away of the State" or people ruling themselves directly is brought by Communism. Please read this post again from the top once more and please read the links in post# 55.

True Democracy i.e. the "Withering away of the State"
You seem to be looking for a revolution. I am not. I am ok with quite a few aspects of the current system with few issues mentioned in my post.

You seem to be looking for a revolution. I am not.

I am but it need not be a bloody one. If every Indian member on this forum accepts to preach of progressive change within the country and connect with existent progressive groups within the country there will be a few more ambassadors of change. This can then amplify.

As example, the Libyan revolution of 1969 was not a bloody revolution.

I am ok with quite a few aspects of the current system with few issues mentioned in my post.

Which aspects ? We can talk on a middle ground.

It is not unreasonable if most people are concerned with getting their own children a good education and to put their own familial needs such as putting food on the table every day for their own children ahead of worrying about the whole world.

Your ridiculous solution (sorry) says the govt should handle it and pay for it.

If only we had all that light crude.

Does Cuba have vast amounts of light crude ? Cuba nonetheless is a welfare state. The output of its free medical schools and free healthcare system are among the best in the world.

In one of his travel vids Karl Rock spoke about India being a very competitive environment and that that a few times this leads to things like student suicide. He is correct. India is a dog-eat-dog society which you also accept in your first paragraph. Karl Rock says that this highly competitive environment does not exist in his native New Zealand despite it being a capitalist system, though not as extreme as India. Don't you want India to be a harmonious and easy-going society ? Why is this competitive system necessary ? This thread of mine is about a young woman student from Telangana who committed suicide because her Delhi University scholarship was not coming soon and her family being in economic distress.

Many a time on PDF the ads on the pages are from the Ketto crowdsourcing organization. One such ad was an appeal by the parents of a toddler boy. The boy had a blood cancer. The parents had sold one acre of their two acre farmland and raised 15 lakhs IIRC, which went away in some of the treatment. The hospital told them that 25 lakhs more was required. The parents were crying. Was this misery not avoidable ? There are so many cases like this in India. Yet the government instead of spending money on constructing free high-quality general hospitals spends money on silly things like those two Air Force One planes, new parliament building and the statue of Vallabhbhai Patel. Amit Shah should be made to live a poverty-stricken life and his son should get some cancer. Perhaps then Shah will understand the plight of millions in India.

The right-wingers in India say that they are patriots. Are they really so ? Please read this thread of mine on nationalists and anti-nationalists.
